Thing is... This way it's possible to do other things than just mirrored balls. Instead you can basically take whatever material you want and the lighting still looks natural. Also no problem in adding an extra light somewhere (even if that lightsource should possibly be explained as it is not part of the HDRI sphere then.

Can Bryce 5 be purchased/downloaded these days or is that the trial version? If it's the last one then I would love to have it too. A friend of mine is bugging me for a year already that he wants to copy my original.

That's the name of the article Zhann... I would really love to have that site bookmarked. And yes.. the model of the turtle and catfish were used there
Thread: WTH is this? Poser to Bryce | Forum: Bryce
If nothing works then you could at least try to discover if it is because of the figure or because of your Bryce settings. Just take a Bryce spehre with it's default white material and put it on the same place as the head is now and see if that produces a shadow. If so then youi know at least that poser has nothing to do with it.

The idea is good without doubt. But when I use the Link above and search then it might be 10 times faster but on the other hand... I don't find 10% of what I find here.
Thread: WIP Tree dwelling, more postwork or less? | Forum: Bryce
Oops.. and forgot something else... I love it already and I don't necessarily see a reason to make that terrain. Instead maybe just a (few) post(s) underneath to support the ramp?
Thread: WIP Tree dwelling, more postwork or less? | Forum: Bryce
Small rectification on my post above: This won't work if you can't seperate the ramp from the railing. In that case you will have to make the distance render from below instead of from the top and then invert and mirror the terrain. Either way... with a relatively small adjustment you could make this work

Just a tip to make the terrain follow the ramp perfectly: make a distance render from the ramp seen from the top. Use that render as a terrain and scale it so that it is just a very little bigger than the ramp. Then you can put some small erosion on the terrain (or whatever else you want it to look like) and you should be able to fit a bryce terrain right underneath the ramp. I think from this distance, and considering the terrain is mostly below the ramp, a 512 x 512 terrain should be more than enough (unless you want to render a huge resolution)

John... when you keep putting sweet water fish in salt water and vice versa I can imagine you not being able to keep thyem alive. I'm surprised they lasted 3 weeks ;) But again: I love the render all the way and I don't mind seeigg a few dead fish! I mean.. that pool nemo needs some food too right?
Thread: "Aquarium"- January Challenge | Forum: Bryce
Looks cool John... You might want to reconsider the use of some of the fish though. I see 2 species that do not belong in salt water (at least they won't make it very long there :)

Wonderful work AS... Even if you might lose some detail when you bring it down to 800 x 600
