Diolma:
Thanks. I spent a few hours last night poking around Wings and figured out how to split the rectangle polys into triangles. I tried converting some of my existing dynamic cloth items and ran a few test simulations. I have to say that just this step has really increased the flexibility of dynamic cloth. Haven't tried converting the sheet yet, but I'm optimistic!
ptrope:
Thanks very much for the improved hi-res square. I will try the simulation tonight and post the results.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone.
I've tried these things, and many others, but I'm coming to the conclusion that ptrope and Steve are correct.
I've downloaded Wings3D. Now all I have to do is figure out how to use it. Yikes.
Thanks again.

If you live on the NH Seacoast I'm guessing I live about 10-20 miles south of you, on the MA side.
7 inches on Thursday night
9 more inches on Sunday. At @ noon it changed to rain, and rained for the rest of the day into the night, leaving a 12 inch sheet of solid ice on the ground.
Is there anything worse than shoveling snow in the rain? Why some people love this stuff escapes me.

I guess I'm having one of my frequent "dense days."
You should be able to add your male figure or props into the scene, add the dynamic clothes, create cloth simulations for each of them, and run them for frames 1-30 without affecting the simualtion you've already created for V3. Each simulation is independent of the other. You run them all over frames 1-30.

If I understand your problems correctly, here are my tips:
Whenever you change a figure's pose you have to re-run the cloth simulation(s) for that figure's clothing. Sad but true. The only exception to this is if you just want to change the figure's postion, rather than the pose. In that case, you can parent the cloth object to the figure and reposition the figure.
Each cloth object is handled with a separate simulation. If you want to add a piece of clothing to the figure, you need to go into the cloth room, select "New simulation," then clothify etc. the new piece of clothing, and run the simulation. (If your figure has, say, pants and a shirt, you'll need two simulations, one for each cloth item. If you change the figure's pose in frame 30, you'll need to re-run both simulations.)
Try playing with the fold and shear resistance values to get the correct look of your clothing.
Dynamic clothing is time-consuming and can be a mighty pain, but I think it's well worth the effort. I started using the cloth room about 6 months ago and haven't looked back. (You can also convert conforming clothes into dynamic clothes!)

beos53 -- Thanks much. I love old radio programs and have a pretty good collection of CDs. I bought them mostly for listening to while driving. For a long road trip there's nothing better.

I like the leaf tucked inside the dress. Nice touch.
I see the color mismatch, but it is only on the left side of the head and neck. Maybe a shadow or light?
Miss Nancy - I live where it's cold much of the year, and I can tell you that I've seen people wearing shorts in a snow storm. Guess it's just a matter of what you're used to.

Kassie:
1. Select the prop or body part you want to hide.
2. Click on "Object / Properties"
3. When the Properties pallet displays go to the "Properties" tab. There is a checkbox called "visible." Uncheck it and the prop or body part will disappear.
Hope that helps.
Thread: David or Micheal? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
True.
Still, you'd need the Base David, in addition to the morph packages etc. wouldn't you?
In any case, all the anti-Michael posts in this thread seem to suggest why they're giving him away.

Thread: Question for Beginner Poser Artists | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
As a newbie myself, my main recommendation is: this forum. I don’t post often, but I visit just about everyday. You’ll be amazed at how often you’ll find the exact problem or question you have addressed here on the first few pages—and often from an experienced user!
Also, understand that it’s not always you that’s the problem. Poser has limitations. Some are insurmountable, but often these limitations can be overcome by clever work-arounds and somewhat obscure techniques that don’t seem obvious to you. Sometimes a simple post, link or tutorial will set you on a path that will change your whole outlook on Poser.
Accept that, to a large extent, the Poser User Manual is insufficient. Even though it’s as thick as “War and Peace” it does not, and could not, begin to cover all the things you can do with the application. Sometimes it’s omissions are frustrating. Best to think of it as a massive “Getting Started” manual.
Finally, don’t be intimidated. There’s no way you can learn it all at once. There are people who have been using Poser for many years who are still learning new things (at least that’s my impression). Give it time. Approach each challenge one at a time. Research, read, experiment (especially experiment!). There’s an answer to everything. It’s not always the answer you’d hoped for, but that’s life.
Just remember: every day, every month, every year, you’ll get better and better.
