Just one question: How many years did it take to render that image? lol! Coming right along... wonder how draculaz is doing on his version?

Thread: object how-to | Forum: Bryce
Dang! Just learned two more factoids on Bryce which I was not aware of: Proper use of "family" attribute and the "solo" mode. Thank you.

Ornlu is right. After a scene gets beyond a RAM allocation size, then the hard drive is used as virtual RAM. Of course, virtual RAM is much slower than the real stuff. If the MB will support more RAM memory, then adding to the RAM will help quite a bit!

Thread: WIP: Hood ornament | Forum: Bryce
Ok, Ok, I'll re-work the Poser section a bit and try to reduce the air resistance, lol. BTW, it is a "Hood Ornament". The other item, to which it will be attached, is being worked on. It may be far sexier than this humble hood ornament.

Thread: OT-Why the English Language is so Difficult to Learn | Forum: Bryce
Answer: because American English is actually comprised of many other languages. So you are not learning just one language. Plus, English (as a whole) is content dependent for it's meaning . Look at the word "scale" in an English dictionary. It has 17 different meanings depending on how it is used. Talk about confusing the folks trying to comprehend this language!

Thread: come chat | Forum: Bryce
Dang, missed it again! 8-) The chat room is always empty when I am reading these messages. Is it my after-shave or the underarm deodorant?

A troll is a troll. Take comments with a grain of salt where ever you may read them. People do have bad days. I have had Bryce on the computer for many years, yet I have only started participating in this forum only recently, thanks to draculaz. I have been on the Internet since 1988 and have been the recipient of many a flame over the years. When you are diplomatic in your response, most of the time, the flamer ends up apologizing. However, there will be a percentage of people who will dislike you no matter what you do or say. So learn to ignore those people as they are not worth getting upset about. Life is too short to waste time on them.

Thread: Here's a thought about the Galleries.. | Forum: Bryce
My 2 cents worth: Critiques should be WIP postings here in the forum where one can get help. Replies to critique requests should be positive and informative, never an attack on that person or their ability (or lack of ability). I have benefitted from the comments of my fellow brycers; Like I did not know about setting up a third terrain as a sea foam material for those island shores. And I found out about the excellent modelling program, "Wings 3D". And the HDRI experiments which promise to make certain class of renderings superb. etc. etc.

"wanker"? I guess the Brits have a way with words. Or is that a new American slang? The closest word in my dictionary is "Wankel engine". Maybe I should get a newer dictionary. 8-)

And you thought that only people could do that "head in a lion's jaw" trick. This image is one step better: body in the jaws of a feline. 8-)

Neat, an entire village modelled and textured. Certainly worth looking into.

Outdoors or indoors? If outdoors, then the lighting is about right. Lighting is too bright, wrong temperature light, if scene is indoors.
