I copied that export data and did the same thing, but the textures still weren't right (Poser tiled the texture exactly how it is, whereas only parts of the texture is used). It's okay, though. I've worked around the problem by rendering the model through Max, then using that as a background in Poser, where I can render characters over it and match lighting. I then use After FX to mask any foreground objects. As long as I keep camera movements slight or static, I can just match keyframes, and use the OBJ file in Poser to help match the camera to the background rendered in Max. The result is the same (though slightly more work), but I'm comfortable with it at least. Thanks for the help, though.
Thread: Need assistance with importing Max 3DS into Poser 4... PLEASE HELP!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Oh wow, UV Mapper is extremely confusing!! I loaded the OBJ file into UV Mapper, then hit the Split Vertices option. When I loaded the new OBJ into Poser, I noticed that a lot of the geometry was very blocky and pixelated, and the stretching problem still wasn't solved. Did I do something wrong? Also, I noticed that UV Mapper has options for importing and exporting UVs. Is there possibly a way to export just the UVs from Max, import them into UV Mapper and the OBJ model, then voila problem solved? Yeah probably not but we're getting there at least. Thanks for the help so far. I'm confident that the problem will be solved soon.

"By the way, in 3DS Max 7 you don't even need the Habware exporter anymore... it will export/import OBJ files with a natively included plugin!" Yeah I noticed. That's why I didn't realize Max had an OBJ exporter right away because I have Max 4 (Max 7 is just a trial) and I don't think it ever had an option to export OBJ files. Now if I could cure the whole texture problem, I just might die a happy man.

Well I should have tried this first, so I apologize for not doing so :-) But yes, I just realized that Max exports OBJ files, so I did that and voila -- perfect geometry in Poser. Unfortunately, texture mapping is still a big problem. I'd hate to sound like a moron, but how would I go about splitting these vertices? Stonemason: By the way, your Urban Sprawl is amazing (as are all your other DAZ products).

The stuff on 3D Special look great... but beyond my price range:-( I was hoping for something more along the lines of Daz's prices, which I normally spend around $20 to $30 for a good product. Plus, those props aren't specifically for Poser so I'd be risking it.
I checked out Davo's products and am quite intrigued. I was hoping for more "meaty" things that I can shape around to create things like tongues, etc., but I do like the severed limbs. I might consider purchasing this, but would it work for M3, or should I use the M3 to M2 model?
And to Ghelmer, I did receive your email. I sent a reply, hopefully you got this one :)
Thanks peoples! (Yes that was intentional grammar)

Cool, thank for the replies. I hope their projects are done soon since I'd like to get these things ASAP :)

"OTOH, if M3 is mostly going to be hidden inside it, perhaps it wouldn't be too much of a problem to hide the chest and arms, and just parent the jacket to M3." Yeah, I usually do hide body parts that are hidden by clothes, but the only problem is I don't want M3 to have V3's body shape :-O I would email the creator(s) and request one for M3, but I noticed this product was uploaded over a year ago, so I doubt this person will want to create this simply from my request. "Second question - export the whole of them as one OBJ. Even if they aren't physically touching, they will load and move together if you do that. " If I do this, when I import the OBJ into Poser again, will parts still be separate so I can texture them individually (or rather, will they already be texture from when I export it)? Thanks for the reply.
Thread: What are the chances that I could find or get a building model like this... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
LOL! Sorry, I just noticed the guy standing in front of the building... his pose is priceless!! It started off my day with a good chuckle and a half.

Well the building looks fine, it's just that perimeter wall that looks kinda... not so fine :-) I don't need the wall though, but if it's already attached, I'll just put a bland texture since most of it will be covered up anyway. I sent you another email since I didn't receive the one with the attachments, so look out for that. I can't wait any longer!!!!!! That lighting makes the building look pretty creepy, though.

Haven't gotten it yet, but when I do, I'll set it up in my scene and get some pics on this forum. Thanks Ghelm!

Ghelm, Well if I'm importing it into Poser, as far as I know, it really doesn't make a difference (I could be wrong), so pick whatever you picked and I'll take it! Also, will these objects have separate pieces so I can texture them (not that the whole object, for example, is one texture)? I don't know of any other way to texture it otherwise :-( Oh, and one more quick thing: with the hospital exterior, could you by chance remove those doors (or at least separate them from the building)? I want to be able to open and close those doors... Other than that, it looks great! Send it through my email when you're ready :-) Sarte, I WISH I could remember SH1 hospital (it's been a while), then I'd be able to tell you my opinion. I think Brookhaven is pretty creepy though, ESPECIALLY in Silent Hill 3. I only wish I didn't know every nook and cranny of the architecture by the time SH3 came out, otherwise it would've been a whole lot scarier.

Hey Ghelm, there you are! Sorry if I seemed too bothersome lately, but I'm currently in crunch mode to get Part 3 out, and the only remaining shots involve exterior Brookhaven! But now that you're here, how's the interior models doing? I really liked that hallway, and would love to fool around with it even if it isn't "Poser-ized" yet (as long as the different parts are saved as separate objects, otherwise I won't be able to texture them). Other than that, great to hear from you again.

You know what? On second thought, I noticed that they're selling one CD with EVERYTHING on it at only $50, and I noticed there's actually a lot of models in the archive that I could find uses for, so I'm going to purchase the CD instead. Thanks again for the help!

Ah, I found some good ones in here! I'd hate to pay for a full CD when I only need one model, though! Suppose there's no way around it, but it'd be nice. Thanks for the link :-)
