Attached Link: Workaround overlapping UVs in DAZ Studio: Fixing the Basic Bodysuit - UPDATED
I have updated and expanded the video about fixing the basic bodysuit. This video Is an updated and expanded version of a previous video of the same topic. It shows one method of "fixing" overlapping UVs for the "flawed" Basic Bodysuit that comes as a part of the Genesis Supersuit Bundle. The technique shown uses the Polygon Group Editor Tool in DAZ Studio 4.5 Pro.

This evidently changes based on what layout you have selected. Under the default settings it is, indeed, where Richard said it was.

Thanks Cath and RIchard...
say, I wonder if that change modifier key trick will workaround the Mac bug.
SUCCESS
First thing though, on mac its under EDIT>CUSTOMIZE (or just hit F3)
Second... the reason I assume its screwed up in the first place is that for the mac, the orbit viewport window uses Alt+left Mouse Button. You will need to change that to something else. For some reason it will not accept any key combination, only shift, alt, or command or a combination of those keys as a modifier for LMB.
Under view controls, I changed the "Orbit" modifier to Cmd+Alt+LeftMB

Then under Polygon Group Editor" I changed it to "Alt"

Works like a charm. Thanks Richard, I hadent even thought about looking ito switching the modifiers... we can always learn something new!

Yeah, this is where Mac and PC are weirdly different. On Mac, every regular left click is additive and you cant remove polys from your selection. On PC you must hold down a modifier key to add to the selection... i think its control, but it could be alt. play around with it and see. the other key will allow you to remove polys from your selection. I dont have a PC to test with at the moment so maybe someone can clarify that for me.
when you rotate, use the camera cube and be safe :D
selected polygons will stay selected on the item or figure you have selected, even if you temporarially move to a different one and come back or even switch tools for a bit and come back. Try to get out of the habit of clicking in the viewport to select your figure when using this tool... use the Scene tab for that.

Quote - ...but the "My Library" folder resides in the "My Documents" documents which would be on the wrong drive thus defeating the whole purpose of the larger runtime drive. Why did Daz go to this structure? Everything was fine and simple when it all resided in the Programme Files directory.
You can put your new "My Library" folder wherever you want to... i simply meant that it should be a copy, so to speak, of that folder and the way its set up... not the location.
I have "My Library" folders on several drives (named something unique). Just point DAZ Studio to them and all will be well
Thread: Multiple Runtimes | Forum: DAZ|Studio
I keep a few different "runtimes". The DAZ Studio content manager makes it quite easy to hot-swap between them as needed.
Smart Content gets a bad rap for some reason, but I find it very valuable. YOu can make your own tags and metadata very easily and categorize your content into your own fantasy organizational paradise. one thing I love is that you can sort a singular item into multiple places. I have a metal armor shader and I can store it in both my metals folder AND my armor Folder with almost zero additional storage space.
I am making a video on all this as it relates to one of the biggest library-stressing items in existence: the Supersuit.
to create your own new directory, do it starting at the "My Library" folder level. your new "My Library" can be named whatever you like but what comes inside it should follow convention. There will need to be a "runtime", "Data", and "People" folders inside it. for example. If you like, try naming the new "My Library" folder a name that reflects the reason for the new structure. if you have supersuit stuff in there... You might call it "Supersuit Library"
Once you have created the structure, just point DAZ to it using the Content Directory Manager (right click on the Content Library tab to find it)
I would note that some content simply needs to be installed where Genesis is. Tori for V5 MUST be installed where V5 is installed and this cannot be changed. other content requires Genesis and so on.
You should not have more than one directory that contains any of the same data active at the same time or you will get Duplicate ID errors and potential problems.

Its got a long way to go.
My Mistake... i found the setting to use the LUX interface
Thread: Reality Render thread. A new beginning. | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Ive been playing with it for a few hours.
the biggest bonus is that it "automatically" converts all the existing surfaces... but as far as ive been able to figure out, its not as complete a transfer as you might hope.
I still had to go in and tweak the surface settings to get anything close to what I wanted.

Attached Link: Supersuit Tips & Tricks Episode 3: Separating and Saving Out Parts of Full Presets
Here is a new videoIn this video I will show you how to load a full body preset and then save out only a part of it as a separate regional preset that can then be applied to any other supersuit shape.
The example in this video is saving out the supersuit trooper helmet as a separate regional preset for later use.
There was a specific question about this on the DAZ forum and some guy posted a long version of how to do it by editing the text file... certainly NOT the best way to go about it. Hopefully this will help
