Thanks Kupa and CL. Welcome news for many Im sure. As one who has had no problems with P5, and not criticised it publically I take back everything I
ve never said!
Thread: For the modelers - one-sided objects? Why does THIS happen? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Another option is to import the OBJ file into the free "Amim8or" modeller. This allows you to select specific faces and flip the normals. The only limitation with animator is it doesn`t support grouping. This is fine for most props, but not for figures.
Thread: Poser 5: grouping polygons | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi Bernard, One program that definitely works for grouping is UVmapper. It it primarily for texture mapping but does more. You select the faces off the 2D map, select "assign to group" give it a name and when finished grouping save the model. These groups will be present when you load it into Poser. It only works with OBJs, and unless you buy the Pro version (there is a free "classic" version) you are limited to working on 2D maps so a complicated model is almost as difficult as Posers way. I
ll leave others to list the 3D modellers that do grouping.

Cool. The background removal is the alpha channel I mentioned. All Poser PNG renders, and TIF, and some animation codecs include a transparency alpha channel. You should be able to remove them in a paint package if you want the background to show up.
Thread: Png file question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The simplest method is to render an image in Poser to a new window at 91x91 and save it as a .PNG directly out over the original .PNG thumbnail. No paint package manipulation required. In fact someone posted a while ago that you can do this at odd resolutions eg 150x91, as long as the width is 91 it still puts up a new thumbnail. It works in Poser but the thumbnail won`t show up if you use P3DO explorer. If you want to do paint package manipulation be aware of the PNG alpha channel. Mark

Thread: Possible to fake hair collision detection (and soft body dynamics)? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Zenman, it sounds good. I had thought of propping the entire collar but a prop wouldn`t stretch like the figure. A partial prop of the breast only sounds a much better idea. It should even keep the texture mapping intact. It is frustrating as the Victoria experiment was only one step off being perfect.

DW, you missed one group out, ungrateful ones, and I put myself at the top of the list. You kindly sent an e-mail about a freebie which I downloaded, and forgot to say thank you. So I`ll take the opportunity to rectify this with a thank you very much now B)
Thread: Possible to fake hair collision detection (and soft body dynamics)? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I did try the breast on Victoria as a cloth and it worked fine, deforming very nicely and bouncing when animated but it turned out to be useless in an animation as it "turned off" the rest of the arm for collision detection and deformed the joint from collar to shoulder, even though this area of the collar wasnt clothified. Encouragingly the figure was able to be saved and reloaded with the cloth settings in place. I suspect there are possibilites here but it
s beyond my technical knowledge to go further.

I suppose it`s worth mentioning Poser characters are one of the few that get their noses picked for them.
