If I open a folder it works, but not at the folder level. In poser 11 it works at all levels, the same as windows file folders work.

I tested today again just to make sure, yes it works, replace all then save it:

1. in Blender create a new armeture with 1 bone and name it "hip".
2. add a bone constraint to it and set the target to the camera.  You should see the bone snap to the cam.
3. export a bvh file.  (bvh files need to at least have a bone for it to work)


4. In Poser I made a prop (which is missing now, but that's not important) and gave it a group named "hip" then in Setup Room gave it a single bone (hip).  I created this to be a single bone "figure" called CamFig.  (make sure to add it to your library for future)


5. The magic:  Select CamFig, set the Dolly Cam as child of the 'hip' then import the bvh file onto CamFig.

Its a bit of a work-around, but was successful.  The one issue I had was for some reason the Animation needed to be rotated 90 degrees on the X axis for the cam to look the in the correct direction (not rotate the hip bone as this would mess up the animation).    But once you get it right, you can bake all of the keys on the camera and then unparent it by dragging it back to UNIVERSE in the Hierarchy Editor.  the camera will retain all of the animation data.

In Poser 11 when I go to the library I can search by typing the first letter of what I am looking for and I am immediately taken to that location.

In Poser 12 This doesn't work and I do not know how to fix.

Hi everyone

I'm back again, every time I get a new version there are always things I don't get.

I'm working my way through it and I got to the point where I'm trying to make a sample animation, I want to see if it's really faster and how much.

Here's the problem, when I click on Make Movie it goes to a new window.

I can understand most of it, you now select the size and kind of fire you want to output in the lower left area of the Window.

So I did, I selected AVI uncompressed. That's very fast to render for things that are small clips when you don't care about the size of it.

Here's the problem, when I get it all set up, the only option on the page is Render Images.

No matter what I put in the output information when I start the process, it just renders PNG files.

How can I get it to do the many other options that it shows when I select something?

Any help is welcome,

I didn't have to ask how to get a clean starting window this time.

Hey. Thanks for pointing that out.  It has been updated to show Poser on the list.

The quick and easy solution I always use is to:

1. Select the Group box
2. press Ctrl+Shift+9 to make it fully visible
3. Change the material to 100% transparent with 0 specular or reflections.
4. Enjoy

I always do Preview renders with Antialiasing though. If rending beyond that you probably need to uncheck 'Visible in Raytracing' on the Properties panel too.

I just worked on a project where I had to have the scaling correct. One of the Poser peeps let me know if we export the obj from Blender using a scale (on export settings in Blender) of 0.381493011 it should match up without altering the Poser import scale settings when its brought in.. For my own workflow I needed to have the proper sizes WITHOUT altering the scale after Importing to Poser, because I needed to send my animation work back to Blender via FBX. As long as the scale was accurate from the start everything still matched up when the FBX from Poser was imported back to Blender.

Everything I work on is OBJ from Blender imported to Poser. It works well.

what version of 12 are you using (as seen no splash screen)?

This convo is drifting off-topic, but imho Adobe & Autodesk subscriptions are both curse words.

BUT When companies offer a subscription as an additional option for people who can't afford the full priced license, that's a whole new story. $400 is a lot of students or hobbyist, or someone looking to get started on a whim.

Yes this was an issue that has been addressed. It because completely unusable for animation during that mess too, which was not good since i use Poser for the animation job. Very grateful they were able to get this sorted. Now we just need the GUI speed to get restored to Poser 7 quality.

SOLUTION - for now

I'm absolutely not a fan of this move at all. I did find you can prevent it from happening on future launches though if you go to the image file and make it Read Only (Windows). Not sure how to do this on Mac. Lock the image? But it prevents it from being used and will restore the original splash (for now). I could not solve it by deleting the image or changing the image w the same file name, because it re-downloads it at every launch, but read only seems to be the band-aid workaround for now. Every time you update though you will need to do this again.

On Windows the image is located at C:-Users-___yer yooozer name here___-AppData-Local-Temp-Poser-12- (using dashes because slashes get hidden on forum posts) It will have some crazy file name like "GTdiykRsWM6csaLYx1x68ILPDDXvYMJNZZZNVFpT.jpg" Right click it, go to Properties, then click 'Read Only' to enabled it. Apply, and hit OK. Future launches after doing so should load up the old splash.
