Subject: Need a solution for DAZ to Blender (and back) For Animation

ShaneNewville ( ) posted Tue, 06 December 2022 at 1:13 AM · edited Thu, 30 January 2025 at 10:40 PM

Hey,

Just curious if anyone knows of a good solution for exporting characters from DAZ to Blender so they can be animated and then brought back into DAZ.   We tried out the free DAZ to Blender Bridge, but the rig it brings into Blender does not seem like it was designed for animation at all.  There is no IK and all the joints have strange locks and limits on them.    I saw there is also a Blender addon called Rig-GNS ($45) which also makes use of Rigify, a great standard animation rig.  Not sure i want to spend that kind of money just to see if it works.   Wondering if anyone here has any experience in the process.

As well as the second part, which is to bring animation back into DAZ.

Thanks.  Though at a glance it looks like a 1-way option (DAZ to Blender). Is there a method to get it back into DAZ for the final scenes/assets
