Quote - I might have to see if I can get it up and running in xp compatibility moe as well. If I recall, there were some libraries it needed that were no longer available in Vista or win7.

I'm sure you probably know how to change the compatibility mode but for forum members that don't here's how to do it.
In Win7 right click on the program installation file (ends in .exe). Now select Properties. A window opens. At the top click on Compatibility. Now scroll down to XP. Select "Apply" at the bottom of the window. Now you're ready to install the program in XP mode. -TOM-
Thread: Mat Pose Edit by Scourge | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - There is a "tempory" link to MAT Pose Edit in this therad. The application can still do a lot of usefull things, even though it may be outdated in some regards. In particular MPE is not limited to MAT poses, and its extensive channel selection and filtering abilities can be very usefull in many situations.
At the time of writing the link is still functioning.
I found the LINK and now have the program installed using XP Compatibility mode. I have Win7 on my machine. It politely warned me about writing over newer system files (.ocx) during the installation so I am glad that my newer files were not changed. It's up and running. I will give it a test drive today. Thanks! -TOM-

I've checked the licence and it does say that the package can be redistributed so long as the contents remain unaltered and that no charge is made.
So here's a temporary link to the utility.
Thanks for the LINK. I've installed it on my Win7 machine, seems to be doing okay so far. I installed the ".exe" file in XP mode compatibility. The program warns before overwriting files that are newer than the installation files, i.e., .ocx, .dlls
Thread: Mat Pose Edit by Scourge | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Mat pose edit doesn't work on anything newer than windows xp. It still can be useful to create many mat poses, but posr's native MC6 files now can replace most of those.
And you can still find the page for it if you search for it as mat pose edit and Iilari, who was the author.
Thanks... I use Win7 so if it's not stable software I'll just pass it up.

Quote - The older mat pose editors don't handle bump maps properly because the Poser Surface changed.
A new slot called "Bump" was added and that superceded the old "Gradient Bump" slot.
Gradient bump is now used for normal maps or for the legacy ".bum" files.
Thanks... Appreciate the replies to my thread! -Tom-

Quote - AFAIK, the program hasn't been updated in 6-7 years.
It might not even be usable with a modern version of Poser.
Keep in mind that the MAT-pose was not officialy supported from the start.
You have a lot more utility by creating an MC6 (or MT5) in the Material Room.
Thanks for the info. I read some very old web pages regarding the program. It sounded interesting but I realize now that it would have served no purpose. I'm using Poser 2012 so I'm sure things have changed considerable. -TOM-
Thread: 2012 Library is a mystery. Need help deleting files when I make mistake | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I like the way Poser 2012 handles libraries. I stay away from the Library that Poser installs as part of the main program. Everything that I add to the library I put in a separate folder that contains the runtimes. Easy way to keep things sorted out.

Thread: New User - M3 - Skin & Clothing | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Thanks for the response. I have the M3 Base in place. In the Pose section there are few pieces of clothing that came with Michael. A black pair or shorts, etc. All of the skin is just shaded skin, no realistic body hair or hair for the head. I can see that these are things I will need to add to the program. I have been downloading a number of freebies and hope to have them loaded soon to try out.

Here is a great Tutorial to read for help with DAZ file locations. Download and UnZip the file into a separate folder on your hard drive. Double-Click on the .htm file! Enjoy...Thread: Create .PNG Icon for .OBJ File | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Thank-you Annie for your help. I followed the DAZ tutorial and was able to
create an icon for the object. The icon appears in the "Environments" folder and links the rendered balloon. My real goal here is to learn how artists create an association icon with the unrendered raw data of the object file. Tom
