Because importing it as an object is a pain in the rear. Firstly you have to go and look up all the textures you used and manually apply them. As huge as my runtime is, it's not always easy to even know where to look without doing research. Secondly, it's been my experience that the eyes become black holes. I believe that has to do with eyebrow//eyelash transparencies, but no one has ever been able to offer me a fix for that.
I do all the posing in Poser. The clothified piece of clothing always reverts to it's original form when imported into Bryce. In Carrara, you can get around this by forwarding the animation frames to the last frame thereby allowing the cloth to rassume to it's intended shape.Â
I don't know of a way to do that in Bryce.

Ahhh... Not being a modeler, that hadn't occurred to me. An entirely different facet.Â
Thanks for the tip. Someday as I progress, it may come in handy!
Thanks!

A while down the road now, but I learned what the problem was. When you import a scene with a cloth object from Poser, you must allow the "animation" option in the import option box when it pops up. When Carrara 5 Pro imports the file, it opens it to the first scene of the "animation" i.e. before the "cloth" was draped. You have to advance the animation bar to the far right to the last screen of the "ani" and you will find your scene as it was at the time of export.
Remember...Think of a Cloth import as an animation. Make sure you make it scroll all the way to the end of the "ani".

Thanks! You've all been really helpful. This'll make my battles with Bryce much easier and someday I might win one, lol.
Again, thanks.

I know where they are. There are 100 brushes I purchased as part of a package.
They are a BRP.file. I click on them and windows says it does not recognize the file.
I'm sure they are in some way accessible, but I sure don't know how to access them.
Thanks again.

Another newbie question.... (duh)
Where do I find the brushes I bought and installed from Daz?
Bryce is hard for someone unfamilia with it to navigate.
Thanks to all who have been so helpful!

Yes, forgive the misunderstanding.. That's exactly what I meant.
Is it possible?
Many thanks.

The Daz Installer automatically sends the files to their appropriate destination. It is an executable file. You have no choice as to where you want it to go other than Bryce/Poser//Daz. I would love to be able to open then up and rename certain files to fit my own interests like you can with "Runtime"
folders from Rosity.
I've never directed them to any file other than those suggested. It might be worth a try to send them to a pre selected file. I hadn't considered that.
Thanks for the helpful tips!

Thanks, Ricky. The Daz installer doesn';t give you the option of removing the object yourself.
::sigh:::
Thanks for your help!
One other problem I have. When a larger object is in front of another smaller object, I can't select it without moving the other from in front of it.. Is there a drop down menu somewhere that allows you to select one obj. over the other?
Thanks again.
Thread: Carrara5 Pro /Transposer problems | Forum: Carrara
I am trying to import or "Open" from Poser 5. I just bought it 2 weeks ago. Are there already updates? You are fortunate that your Transposer works. From people I have had contact with, many have buggy versions where Transposer will not work. Why? I don't know. That's what I'm trying to find out.
Thanks for your help.
