I have to respond to mateo_sancarlos "anger management" comment: He (art8boi) managed his anger quite well, thank you. We all get angry, it's part of being human. What we do with that anger, how we respond to it, determines whether we are civilized (real definition) or not. Yes, I'd have wanted to take his head off, too, along with the almost certainly narrow minded, bigoted, anti-naturalistic jackasses who formulated the policy in a knee-jerk reaction to a non-problem. BUT HE DIDN'T, AND I WON'T, in spite of the fact that I have the ability, training, skill, and, frankly, strong inclination to do so. Why? because I am truly civilized. I, and art8boi, choose to control our response to provocation. The poor sap who confronted him thought he/she was doing the right thing. NOBODY ever sees themselves as the "bad guy" unless they are seriously ill. Even the fictional Hannibal Lector did not.
Absence of ability is not virtue. Ability and abstinence is. Civilization consists, solely, of the ability to kill, and the will to refrain from killing, today. Maybe tomorrow, but not today.
Art8boi, way to go, bro'! Several people have given you some good advice on what to do with the situation, though you hardly seem to need it! Heed it! But don't expect to succeed. You are fighting fear, and fear needs to be confronted and fought, whether in yourself or in others. Just don't expect to win, except within yourself.
All people feel fear and anger. But in whole people, fear and anger have no dominion.
Thread: Poser5 MacOSX compatability-- document window vanishes | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
My document window coes back if I click on the title. It's an annoyance, but I've had no problems using other apps while running P5...Of course, it helps to have over a Gig of RAM and processisng speed. %^D Make sure you have the latest versions, too. Iseem to recal this was a real problem with an earlier version of OS X.
Thread: Sun direction | Forum: Vue
Click on "Sunlight" in the World Browser. Now go up to the Properties palette and deselect the "Point at Camera" checkbox. Normally I'd just say "RTFM." But I have RTFM, and it leaves much to be desired, especially when it comes to finding answers to specific questions. It's no worse (and frankly better) than most, except for the organizationand thenevermind, I don't want to get started! ;^D Some of the tutorial sites linked from e-on's site are, however, dynamite. Vue is a powerful, complex program. Be patientand persistent!

Thread: HOW can I contact e-on if I can't send a private e mail??? | Forum: Vue
Lyne, I just checked. both t he forum log in and the technical support "contact a technician" pages are encrypted at 128 bits. Private info is generally not posted, IIRC, even though access to the forums is secure. Let us know how you fare.

Last that I looked, the page where you enter your info is secure. I wonder if that changed...?
Thread: Well, it's summer, but.. Are the ebots on vacation too? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Reset your preferences at the bottom of the main forum page. Something reset the "email on post" switch. Oh, crud. It doesn't work anymore. Someone tell the webmobster... ;D

Thread: "a special thank you from renderosity" | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If they do have it set up that way (and, like you, I've also noticed this pattern) it's bad marketing. The time to send these things is shortly after a customer gets an e-mail informing them that an item on their wish list has just gone on sale. As an inducement to come and shop, it's not enough. As a "scale tipper" it's perfect. Anybody in marketing listening...?
Thread: Think I've captured anger , What do you think ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Close, but too symetrical. The asymetry of the human facial muscles and bone structure really shows when someone is enraged.

Thread: Big Butt Syndrome | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ugh! I did, a long time ago, before several reinstallations. I'll dig around and see if I can find it. Not hard to do, if you don't want to wait for my archeaological expedition. Just remember to turn IK off on everything, and that all Poser figures rotate around the hip.
Thread: Big Butt Syndrome | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Part of the problem is the way the spine-hip joint is constructed in most Poser figuresall of them are swaybacked! You can correct this by bending the figure forward at the waist about 5 or less, rotating the whole figure back to vertical, and then bending the legs back to vertical. This flattens the curve of the lower spine (and incidentally, rotates the hips into the proper position for good upright posture. Bending the figure at the waist now produces a proper spinal curve and the big glute problem is lessened. You still have to do some work, but it's much easier from that point.
Thread: Is Poser suitable to children or Is Poser a game ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
"No thing, whether it is a weapon, tool, or idea is dangerous. It is only people who choose to make things dangerous." "OK, but if the Curious Labs box fell off the shelf it wouldn't accidentally go off or slice you open. JMO." If you put a potentially hazardous thing on a shelf where it can fall and do damage, that is your choice. A Curious Labs box, falling from five feet, and striking with an edge or corner could do considerable damage. If it misses you, but you then trip over it and put your head through the monitor, it would probably kill you. Does that make the monitor dangerous? No, it makes you dangerous. There are people in this world who consider Poser to be porn. Those people are afraid of the responsibility that goes with any powerful tool. Responsibility lies with people, and nowhere else. Sorry...you pushed a button.
Thread: Is Poser suitable to children or Is Poser a game ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There is one danger in introducing your kids to Poser. I did that when they were each about 10 or so. Kids have more time than adults. As a result, both of my kids are far more advanced users than I think I'll ever be...and I'm jealous! :^D No thing, whether it is a weapon, tool, or idea is dangerous. It is only people who choose to make things dangerous.
Thread: Clint Eastwood Colt 44's Needed For "Good, Bad, Ugly" | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
'Fraid Don is rightnotice the loading lever and the "hump" where the cylinder meets the barrel. It is quite possible that there were no replica's of the Texas Patterson when t he film was made. In fact, these movies were one of the reasons for the resurgeance in interest in black powder firearms. The revolvers used by most characters in these films (at least in the close-up shots) were (or were intended to look like) Colt conversions of earlier models to accept cartrigdes. Historically innaccurate for the Civil War. These came along later when cartridge guns became available. Rather than buy a new revolver (a month or more pay for most cowhands) many were modified with new cylinders and modified frames Sorry I found this thread late. Nice to know there are other black powder/firearm/history nuts around here.Anyone want to talk about Imperial Roman historyad nauseam ;^D

I'd suggest a processor upgrade as your next major cash outlay. I think Otherworld computing is selling a processor for your machine for around $200, IIRC. I just upgraded from G4 750 Mhz to G4 1.2Ghz, and posing is no longer slow!
