Backdrop you can either add to a plane which I use if I wish to get the scale right like if I have characters inside house and want the windows overlooking the backyard. i find this my preference because i can move it back and forth to get it looking right. You add the image in the Surface Pane > Diffuse and depending on shape of image you will probably need to tweak the scale sizes to suit. the second option is to add it as background Environment Pane > Backdrop > Background you will see the top option which color adjustment but a little drop arrow click that and hit browse to choose the image. I use the second option as well but it kind of dictates my camera angle a little too much for my liking. it just depends on what you have in mind for your set.
That works. If your background image matches the aspect ratio of the render you can also use a backplate. (Backdrop under the Environment pane) or use an HDR/EXR file as your backdrop by turning on Draw Dome, under the Environment section of the Render Settings pane.
Note with the last choice your lighting will match your background, if that is important for your render.

That was the first Pro version, and it was called Poser Pro; no version number or year was appended. I think I still have it installed on one workstation (Cameron).
The version of Poser that came out between Poser 4 and Poser 5 was also named Poser Pro. So the two versions have the same name.
Thread: Rotate cameras around selcted item? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Simple way to do it. Place a Null at the center around which you wish the camera to rotate. (The Align tool is your friend.) Parent the camera to the null. Rotate the null.

IIRC, it is the major difference with the EXP morphs over what came before.
The CR2 does not carry the channels. It has been a long time since I dug into those, LOL, though, so exactly how it works, I have to admit, I don't remember.
I do know they are not the same as channels from before Victoria 4.2.

Oh. OK. Well, I'm afraid I didn't understand any of that. ;)
If you use an injection pose to add morphs there needs to be a channel, defined in the cr2, to allow it and that channel is specified in the injection pose. So adding morphs tended to step on each other.
PMD and EXP morphs both avoid this issue. EXP morphs have the added advantage that they work in both DS and Poser.

PMD's have one advantage, you don't need channels for adding a morph, unlike an Injection file (even with read scripts). Note that is the same thing the EXP morphs (that Daz uses for its Mil 4 morphs.) accomplishes.
You can use EXP morphs for this same purpose as PMD morphs and then be compatible with both Poser and Daz Studio.
Thread: Are people still using V4? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I gave up on V4/M4 a couple of years ago. Everything I can't live without, from Mil 4, I converted to Genesis 2 and/or Genesis 3 and never looked back.

If you install through DIM then log in in DS using the login button, Daz Studio will offer to "Update" your installed content through Connect. If the content is the same it will do it by copying content and using that version, by preference, from that point on. If there is a difference it will download the content and install it through connect.
Note it uses an MD5 checksum to determine if it is the same. SO if the DIM version is uncompressed, and it compares it to the connect version (which is compressed) it will not realize it is the same, so redownload. It does copy, not move, and will not delete the files you have on your system that you installed through Install Manager. This can fill a Hard Drive rather quickly.
If you intend to use Connect, you are probably better off only using Connect for content. You will get updates easier, and automatically that way. If you also use Carrara and/or Poser then, for space reasons, you are probably better off not using Connect.

The issue is not just the Processor but the Motherboards.
AMD Motherboards are lagging far behind Intel Motherboards. You are generally looking at PCIe2 vs. PCie3, Slow SATA, no M.2 location, etc.
For Iray (and Superfly, for that matter) the 980Ti is still the best bang for the buck. If you can find a 1080, and can get Iray Drivers for it, then it is a slight improvement over the 980Ti but I am not sure it is worth it yet.
Personally I would spend no more than half your Video Card Budget and get one or two 980Ti then hold out for the 1080Ti.
Hi there
On this I would agree, but newer AM3+ Motherboards supports M.2,SATA is still not the best, but still OK,unless you are do lots of transfers between the drives PCI-E 2.0 is bit slower than PCI-E 3.0,mainly in gaming,in rendering I'm not sure if it will make any difference
https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/Impact-of-PCI-E-Speed-on-Gaming-Performance-518/
And motherboards which supports M.2 are here few

GTX1080 is still not supported by IRAY as CUDA Toolkit is not released and most of SW is still not support new CUDA and looks like new CUDA will be released sometimes in July/August and Otoy(Octane Render) have seems issues with new CUDA as is not working as should, due this I would get as you are said GTX980Ti without the questions, but GTX 780 6GB is still better card for money if you can find that card,I've compared this card to my Titan X and this 780 6GB has been very similar in rendering like my GTX Titan X
Hope this helps
Thanks,Jura
You are looking at about an 8% to 10% hit between PCIe2 and PCIe3 for Iray, according to NVIDIA. And that presumes you have the same number of lanes. (Not even close with a high end board and new i7 Processor if you are using multiple cards.)
Note I am not saying you can't use an AMD board and AMD processor, just that for optimum performance they have fallen behind the Intel Boards.
Also note that Broadwell was not supposed to have a Quad Core (Skylark is not Broadwell) so you are comparing a minimum of 6 cores vs. the AMD 8. The AMD 8 core only has one FPU per two cores and while that doesn't matter, in general, for gaming, rendering is, usually, Floating Point math.
With the Iray 2015 that is in DS 4.9.2+ the 980Ti does outperform the 780Ti. It was one of the bug fixes in that build of Iray.

Note that Bullet Physics gets unstable somewhere around 250,000 tris (according to the Bullet docs). You may want to make sure your SubD level isn't too high, and check the total polycount in the scene.

There are some NVIDIA fixes in 4.9.2 that may allow you to turn OptiX back on. It, generally improves render speed.

ValueOPKey would be your friend for rigging the springs.
Key framing the spring movement and valueOpKey makes the spring move and deform correctly.
