G@P for me. I like to download them with a utility anyway, so I can use the VLC player. The VLC players lets me get the volume high enough to hear on my laptop speakers or on headphones.
Of course it's easy to download from YouTube, so I guess it does not matter that much if it makes your life easier.

It's realy weird. I've been looking through their forums and their "staff" say it was an error, but that was days ago.
I use CS6 so it matters not to me, but I'd think that those who want it have not much to worry about. I just asked someone from Adobe, but have not gotten an answer yet. It could be that they are wrong.

I stand corrected, it is not free at all. That link is only for owners of CS2 and an error was made. They made that very clear all over the forums two days ago. This is a false rumor and those downloading and installing are technically stealing it seems.
Since I own more recent versions it does not matter to me, but thought I'd correct the misunderstanding so people don't accidentally do something dishonest, not realizing they were pirating software.

If they were worried they would have taken that down immediately. This could be a marketing ploy. CS2 is to old for them to care about I'd think.
Since I use some Adobe products in earning a living, I think their Pro-Level products are priced just fine. It's not their fault that others cannot provide as good of products at their prices and survive. Others have tried and failed. In my work, I can't use the hobbiest stuff because they don't include all the time saving features. Adobe products pay for themselves in time savings the first few days I use them, so no complaints. I gladly pull out my plastic to upgrade every other version, which seems to be about right. CS6 Extended is GREAT!
Lot's of free stuff for hobbies and tinkering available all over the place.

That would all add up to quite a load on the processors it seems to me. Clouds, transparency and reflection or refraction eat up resources. Add that to voumetric lighting, global radiosity and things like soft shadows or blurred transparency and your really laying it on.
What kind of machine are you rendering on?
Cool image :)

Thread: So, what's the verdict on Vue 11? | Forum: Vue
Crashes are very rare and usually my fault; so it is very stable.
Particles work well and IMO add a lot of wonderful capabilities. Once I get a library of realistic particles put together, I'll likely use them a lot to add extra interest to scenes. Puffs of dust, dustings of snow etc.. Since they also work with ecosystems they are very handy. They also seem to have a minor footprint and don't destroy render times.
Global materials are very cool for things like placing a dusting of snow particles on everything in a scene or making everything look wet in the rain.
Render time improvements seem to be specific to certain things. Ecosystems don't seem to increase render times as much. How much improvement is dependent on what's in the scene. I need to test that more.
Overall it’s a very good update. I have not tested other changes yet, but so far very good. I'm happy with it.
I did notice while working on a volumetric material last night, it seemed to me that it rendered faster, but I have not tested that.
Using Vue Infinite 11

I had no intent to do anything other than give my honest opinion and said nothing rude; nor did I attack you as if my opinion were the only one that matters and any who disagree should shut up. Amazing.

I'm not having any trouble with the accent? The volume level on the vids is great and the quality is also great. Very well done IMO.

What was unique? Poser and DAZ Studio have been sharing the same drives for over 6 years now.
I'm not sure I care enough to debate syntax.
I never viewed Studio as a replacement until recently. How you view it may be different.

I'm enjoying going through your training very much.
Vue Infinite and ZBrush are my two favorites and as a hobbyist using both for many years, I've never learned them the right way, so I'm learning both all over again in detail and your package is very helpful.
Thread: What do you think about new Particles? | Forum: Vue
The one thing I've tried so far turned out great. The particles for fresh snow on the ground and objects looks far more real than I could do before. I'm hoping for equaly good results for things like smoke and dust.
I'm one of those who asked for this and I'm happy about it. I imagine they will add to this in future versions to make it more akin to particle systems in other packages. I'd like to see a better way to deal with fluids. To me in environment software things like particles, fluids and the like are a no brainer.

Quote - I don't know if a similar discussion DAZ Studio vs. Poser exists, but I think it would be much more tricky. IMHO the Studio is a quite powerful contender, prefer Poser though, because I know it better... )Â
Daz gets Studio's bugs all ironed out, Poser is in trouble I think. Poser had a unique niche until now and they may have to share it with an equal program soon. I find them equal and like you, I only use Poser because I know it better and it's an easy way to get even my own models into Vue.
I finally started taking a serious look at it lately and I have to admit that it's easier to pose in Studio, but their file system puts me off.

Quote - It should be kept in mind though that a free program like Bryce will attract a lot more hobbiests and experimenters where as Vue, with it's higher price, would attract more professionals and semi-professionals.
....and serious artists or hobbyists who can afford or want the best available.
Quote - Working with the free versions and having tested the higher end versions, Vue seems easier to use to me. The interface and menu based access to settings works better for me.
You get what you pay or do not pay for. Bryce is many, many years behind.
Quote - I will say though, that I've also heard a lot of vitriol directed towards the developers, here and on other boards, based on their pricing and lack of customer support. That's problematic. I may need to continue with Bryce a while longer until I can afford to take the leap.
I would not say a lot. A handful of people and some I suspect cannot be satisfied no matter what. Some because they simply do not understand that Vue is designed to take full advantage of system capabilities and get wrongly upset when they cannot do with a low end system what can be done with a high end workstation. They just don't seem to get that.
Some think everything is overpriced and that other people don't deserve to earn a living from their work. They think the world owes them everything. No company can make them happy.
Some complaints are just frustration over what happened right then and if you asked them they would not complain about Vue in general. When things mess up humans get frustrated and overreact.
E-On has excellent customer support. They are very quick at responding to real bugs that are reported the right way to Support, instead of bitching on a forum and not reporting it. I don't blame them when they ignore a report from me that is not there fault and I'm being dumb. Everytime they don't get right back with me, I find out that I'm wrong and Vue is not the problem.
