I really love the look of the water in the first pic and the mist rising above the distant Hills makes for exceptional photographic technique! []/;^)

Don't see how you all have the time to do all the things you do in the morning! It's taken me 7 days just to climb down the ladder of posts just to get to Tedz's bathroom!

I'll take a scoop of that Black Raspberry Avalanche to go with my Chocolat-Raspberry Mornings...I might be awake by the time I get there though (lol)

Thread: about postwork | Forum: Photography
I came here from the link you placed on Enmoss's thread about postwork. I knew you did a lot of postwork on most of your images, which is the magic of viewing your images in my opinion, but the explanation sheds more light in the techniques you use to reach your final visionary masterpieces! Thanks for sharing []/;^)
Thread: Opinions requested on Gallery Content | Forum: Photography
As usual, I'm late to the party...I have cameras that takes photographs, both digital and film. I use PSP and PS to have "fun" with the images. I rarely "heavy manipulate" my images. If I do I stick it in 2D gallery, as the guidelines suggest. Sometimes I see an image in the Photo gallery and wonder why it's not in 2D, but I don't care really where it is. I did a photo collage of a Train. It belongs in the photo gallery. I used 2 filters on an Autumn shot, both of which I could have done in the darkroom. If I sit here and "draw" on the photo, I am using more than one tool, so it should go in 2D gallery. Those are my guidelines, which match the Photo Gallery guidelines. So if any of my images are deemed to heavily manipulated, then I don't have a problem having it moved. Seems to me there are too many cry babies who need to grow up a little bit. Enough said... Very nice round of shots!! Couldn't of done better myself. The deer in Cades Cove are practically fearless of humans...the long glasses really help isolate the subjects...and it was worth the traffic jam in the Cove wasn't it!? These advertising shots should bring them out in droves to compete with the locals (lol)

Thread: Toned? | Forum: Photography
The color image looks a little too overpowering in my opinion, but it makes a point...the toned image is too contrasty, especially in the eyes...so I suggest a happy medium...something like selective coloring...have fun experimenting!

I had not heard the news of his sudden illness or passing. Big Sigh As a student I looked at his work in awe and total respect for his creative genius. I read the article you linked, and when I got down to the last paragraph I read the quote from Avedon and paste his comment here: "If a day goes by without my doing something related to photography, it's as though I've neglected something essential to my existence, as though I had forgotten to wake up," he said in 1970. "I know that the accident of my being a photographer has made my life possible."
