Thread: FREE Daz3D - Praetorian Autoturret + Kishka Hair Texture (Sept 9 & 11) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - I'm not so fond of Polish food, so I'll pass on the Kishkas.
Especially Kishkas with hair on them.
Quote - Kiska is a Slavic word meaning "gut", or "intestine", which lends its name to varieties of sausage or pudding (see kaszanka). The cooked kishke can range in color from grey-white to brownish-orange, depending on how much paprika is used. It is also known as Black Pudding.
The Eastern European kishka is a blood sausage made with pig's blood and buckwheat or barley, with pig's intestines used as a casing. It is traditionally served at breakfast.
Thread: OLd Pz3 with v4 and upgrading to V4.2 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
From what I have observed, a pz3 made with V4.0 loads up as a V4.0.
Though I never deleted V4.0 so if you did that might change things.

Quote - >> As for Palin doing a 180 on the "bridge to nowhere" because it was no longer PC....Obama basically did the same thing about his pastor. :/
IIRC, Obama's pastor didnt cost taxpayers several billion dollars. Nor did Obama's pastor cost the several million in earmarks that went to her town of 7-8,000.
Sorry, but there is a difference.
Not to mention McCain basically did the same thing in reverse. In 2000 he denounced
people like Jerry Falwell and Bob Jones as being religious extremists. Then when he
needed them to get the votes of the religious right, he comes kissing up to them.
And now he picks one of their most hard-core devotees as his VP.

Quote - Now that the recent troubles in Georgia have been mentioned, I wonder what Obama is capable of doing re; Putin? Russia is back on the stage with a renewed economy thanks to thier oil. The EU gets over 40% of it's oil from Russia and now finds itself in a terrible position. If the US would do more drilling we would import less and allow the EU alternatives to Russian oil. I think Ms Palin has a better grasp on international policy than most think. Obama will probably suggest a hand holding circle with the EU ans suggest singing Kumbaya.
We could drill every square inch of America and still not find enough oil to meet the demand.
We need to stop depending on early 20th century technology and move into the 21st century
with renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, geothermal. Then Russia becomes
irrelevant.

Well you do have to hand it to her on this. Unlike Georgia's Mikheil Saakashvili,
she kept the Russians from invading Alaska.
Thread: Gallery Question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - So, in other words, we need a gallery for the gods of poser who find postwork distasteful so that they dont have to have their stuff in the same gallery as some folks who do postwork? This place is ridiculous.
Art is in the eye of the beholder, just like beauty, I could give a rats ass what soembody thinks about my stuff because I postwork. Perhaps I look at their stuff and see nothing special either. So what? No reason to ridicule one another because you have different beliefs.and if you look at the picture... instead of knocking it because it is postworked, you would see it is a person legs.
I don't think anyone said you couldn't do postwork. Just that it is a bit dishonest to
put a picture in the Poser gallery that has been postworked when there is a
mixed medium gallery which is intended for postworked renders.
So no, we don't need a new gallery for the gods of poser, that gallery already
exists. The mixed medium gallery.
Thread: Q: Render shadow of an character only? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yes indeed. Go to Render Setting (Ctrl+y). Select the Firefly tab
Click the radio button Manual Settings.
Then in the Options column on the right put a checkmark in Shadow Only.
And make sure Cast Shadows is checked over on the upper left.
Then hit Render Now (Firefly) at the bottom.

Quote - > Quote - I think she would be a freaken disaster.
That opinion is music to my ears. Wonderful. It's been a good couple of days on the political front.
BTW - I certainly have to agree with one point that was made earlier in this thread, by someone else. Hillary Clinton isn't worthy of being mentioned in the same sentence as Sarah Palin. One of those two women rode her husband's coattails to fame & to power -- and it's most likely that we never would have heard of her, except for her husband's notoriety. While the other woman has achieved all that she's achieved purely under her own muster. So, yeah: comparing the two is most certainly completely unfair to one of them.
I'm getting the impression that "Sarah Barracuda" is the type of player who'll come up on the outside while Hillary Billary is clumsily attempting to dribble down the court -- snatch the ball away from Hillary -- and then drive directly to the opposite goal and score.......leaving a stunned, wide-eyed, open-mouthed Hillary muttering "Wha' happened..........?"
After the game, Sarah will celebrate by going moose hunting with her husband. Perhaps she'll also oust a corrupt, smug politician or two in the process.
Well, if you liked the last 8 years of Bush, no wonder you love her so much.
Just another Bush clone without the goofy face.

Quote - I will now vote for the McCain ticket with FAR more enthusiasm than I would have a couple of days ago. Before, it was just going to be a vote against socialism. Now it'll be because I have something positive to vote for, rather than merely something negative to vote against.
What's wrong with socialism? Seems like it worked out pretty well when Bill Clinton
was president. Given a choice between socialism and what we have now, I'll take
socialism any day of the week.

I don't know Palin well at all -- and I'd guess that few people outside of Alaska do. But I've duly noted that she makes the right people happy.......and she makes the right people very, very angry. In fact, she drives them positively bonkers. That's a strong indicator that -- this time -- McCain has done precisely the right thing with his choice of VP.
Doesn't believe gloabal warming exists, does beleive in creationism. That's all I need to know.
Bush in a skirt.
Quote -
BTW - another thing that a personage like Palin does -- merely by her very presence on the scene. She shows up the fact that many of the so-called "women's rights" advocates are -- in reality -- merely shills for the implementation of liberal social policy, who use "women's rights"
Including equal pay for equal work, a woman's right to choose, all things Palin is against.
Quote -
The point is the advancement of liberalism.......with phrases such as "women's rights" and "we're doing it for the children" used liberally (of course) as excuses for imposing ever longer lists of dictatorial rules on our lives.
Hilarious. Right wingers like Palin advocate abolishing a woman's right to choose,
and it's the liberals that are dictating how people live.
Quote - The good folks up in Alaska tend to be driven by libertarian, conservative principles. My kind of folks. I think that I am beginning to really like this woman...........
I think she would be a freaken disaster.
Thread: Why is Judy so little liked? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - To make twist work properly in the head, in the joint editor, select twist and make sure that the small green line is slightly below the chin.
Or for a more detailed explanation of how to use the joint editor, see my above post.
It may also be necessary to adjust side to side and bend, and maybe even the
joint centers.

**Do you know anything about editing joint parameters? When I swivel the head, or bend it in any direction, the chin stretches and compresses like chewing gum. (although, this might have something to do also with the Cr2 not recognizing V4's upper and lower jaw objects. I'm trying to insert these actors by copy and paste via the Cr2 Editor utility. Any suggestions and advice would be welcome.
Yours truly,
DPH
Just to learn how to create figures, I made a simple, crude, man figure in Wings3D and
then imported the object file into Poser. Then I went into the Setup-up room to bone it.
To make a long story short, after I took him back to Pose room, I too had problems with
the head bending like chewing gum (As well as several other body parts).
Turns out you can use the Joint Editor to fix this (Shift+Ctrl+J).
The just click on the body part you want to fix. Let's do the head, click on the head.
The Joint Editor defaults to Center.
Don't worry about this one for now. Instead use the pull-down to select Side-Side
Make sure Display Deformer is checked and Spherical Falloff Zones is un-checked.
Now go to the parameter dial and move the head form side to side.
You should see two green lines and two read lines below them. Go to the end of
each line with your mouse and you will see a circle with a dot in it. Use this to
move the green lines and the red lines up up and down and this should fix
the side to side distortion. Now do the same for Bend. (You may need to use
the side cameras for this).
Now for Twist. Instead of lines, you just have one black line with a green bar on the
top and a red bar on the bottom. Move these bars up or down to fix the distortions
in the twist.
Now if you are still having some problems, go back to Center on the Joint Editor
and try moving the centers up and down (The circle and dot will be in the middle
instead of on the ends of the lines for this one.) This is a last resort because it
can mess up other things. The other ones won't hurt anything but that particular
body part.
Hope this helps.
