look at the same sorta tute at my site: http://www.brycetech.com/ its the spaceship texturing tutorial...or the one that deals with explosions (#2) It walks you thru the whole process... there is also the overlooked option of converting the ship to obj then using uv mapper to map it the way you want... just import the dxf into Bryce, then export it in obj format... the open it in uvmapper and start painting... good luck BT

Thread: Poser to Bryce transparency problem | Forum: Bryce
you could look at this tutorial if what FT is a little unclear: http://www.brycetech.com/tutor/bryce/brycealive.html there are flash movies there that will walk you thru the entire process to help make objects use transparencies. Probably the biggest thing to do is to check "blend transparency" otherwise it doesnt quite cut it ;) luck BT

asking for a comprehensive texture tutorial for bryce is like asking for the meaning of life...heh You could try the tutorials at Brycetech http://www.brycetech.com/ for some of the material options as for a great DTE tute, I know of no complete one as of yet..but Hinchu is working very diligently on one and I hope he finished it soon. (I think his address is hinchu.com but I wont swear to that) Lotsa people may throw rocks at me for this one, but the best advise I can offer to make textures look more realistic is to TURN OFF AMBIENCE in the material lab. It makes things look like they are fake. There are occasions when ambience is useful (like computer screens, simulating lights etc) but in general, ambience takes away from the reality of a render. Ok gonna go hide behind the couch while others throw rocks* heh BT

yes it is a step-by-step tutorial with how to apply the ones there for free as well as how to make your own. Im flashing the potentially difficult parts so one can watch it happen as well as just read it. its currently being "beta" tested by four volunteers and the results and feedback are very good, so I feel good about making this available soon. btw, its all free...(and Ive spent nearly 1 month making this) debbie wanted everything at Brycetech to stay free, and as long as I am there, it will remain so...Thread: Ultra-realistic face/body Textures *HELP* | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

in about 4 days (hopefully) there will be around 40 textures available for download (transmaps, bumpmaps and specularity only) that will make poser models look human. tho the tutorial will be mainly for Bryce users, those who are good with poser can use the maps just as they would any other map. Its an attempt to bring poser alive and not look so "plastic" soon BTThread: What happened to Bryce Talk? | Forum: Bryce

corel does have a "javascript" chat online, but its not user friendly at all..and you can not register nicks with it. I think the registered users of Brycetalk can still log on, but there is no way for new people to register. BT

The tutorial is not up yet... but it will be up hopefully by mid next week. The reason its taking so long is that Im "flashing" part of it so that the confusing parts can be watched.Thread: Animations trouble. How do you get the hang of this!? | Forum: Bryce

hi this is a function of frame rate, compression codec, resolution used and speed of your computer and hard drive. Animations in Bryce are fun to play with...but you're right..they just dont provide a decent "base rule" for you to go by to start with.... however there is a tutorial at the link above that walks you thru the whole gambit... good luck BTThread: Textures | Forum: Bryce

I also encounter errors with poser imports... I can open 500 meg files that are 100% Bryce, but if I have one obj from poser, occasionally I get an error (not the one you mention..but one similar). I upgrade windows to winME to see if I could dodge the error, thus far it has worked fine. BT
