It is in the vertex modeler, animation tab, then there are tools along the top. The usefulness and some details depend on if the the figure is rigged using legacy Poser (eg. Aiko 3, Vicky 4, Poser 4,...), Daz Studio Genesis generations, native Carrara, etc.
Here is the millenium subdragon which I believe has the same rigging type as Aiko3, V4, etc. I select the actor level, enter the vertex modeler, then in the upper right properties tray of the vertex modeler there are three tabs, click the center which is the animation mode. The weightbrush is available in the top menu now. Select a body part and weightpaint. Or, instead of the weightbrush, select a specific vertex or multiple vertexes and use the bone tab to adjust bone influence using the properties tray.

i saw this discussion of youtube, content creation, rights, etc in another forum. Thought it might be of interest here as well. No idea how accurate it is but i found it very interesting https://youtu.be/1Jwo5qc78QU

Cool coincidence. I had just watched the Sterling Phantom of the Opera video. I want to go to the World Nomad Games. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVXqsPA80r0

I never heard of these points either. I've got a bunch as well. May have to start uploading some freebies to get a round number and then go shopping. Woohoo.
Thread: The Geograft Fake Out Trick | Forum: Carrara
Thanks for tips. Haven't used geografts in a while. Seems to me that the last time I did, I did a double geograft. I applied the first geograft to the figure and it appeared with messed up UVs. I then conformed a second geograft on the first geograft, not to the base figure. The second geograft UVs were NOT messed up. turned off visibility for the first geograft. Wasnt the pro bits, but I suspect the principle is the same.
Thread: Organizing Content, if you were to start over | Forum: Carrara
I did a reorganization when I bought new hardware about a year ago or so. I created runtimes and content folders by store. For the Daz store, I further broke it down by base figure. So, I have runtimes for Renderosity, ContentParadise, RuntimeDNA (labeled RDNA because having Runtime in the name can cause problems), etc.. For Daz, I had the big default Runtime, and then separate runtimes for V4/M4 generation clothing/MATs/poses and V3/M3 generation clothing/MATs/poses. I have yet a Runtime and a Content directory for my stuff I make myself. Not ideal for finding something if I forget where I acquired it, but very good to give credit and to find compatibles.

Ta ra ra boom de ay. Not too young, not too old Not too timid, not too bold.
This is one that people like to update the lyrics. Example from England.
Ta ra ra boom de ay My knickers flew away I found them yesterday On the M6 motorway.

RE: Daz forum frustrations. I am not at the PRE moderation level yet, but I've had some posts removed that have me scratching my head. As Wolf and Wendy have noted the NFT thread is particularly capricious. I posted a warning letter that I got from the Odyssy/LBRY animation hosting folks, which was directly related to NFTs. It has information about Securities and Exchange Commission enforcement actions regarding the regulation and oversight of NFT hosts. Daz Mods removed the letter - not something I wrote, but something sent out by the people directly regulated by the SEC. Honestly, I want to send a letter to Daz's legal team. Their Mods might not realize it, but Daz3D may unintentionally get scooped up in the unlawful marketing of unregistered securities if the SEC goes all out on NFTs. How can they permit the misleading posts by amateur wannabe day traders and delete an actual SEC-related compliance communication? It would be different if they deleted something that was my opinion, but they deleted actual corporate compliance communications. Crazy.
I am trying to ignore all that. It is very hard. I have to remind myself I have completed my financial services policy career. I may write my Congressmen an NFT-related letter just to see if the staff forwards it to my old office.
RE: sales. I buy in cycles over there, and I am now in a 'less buying' cycle. I was a relatively big buyer during V4, Genesis 2, and Genesis 8, but low buyer for Genesis and Genesis 3. I am now on low for Genesis 8.1. Nothing intentional, just the way my buying habits have worked out over time. I will be using G2 in Carrara and G8 in Studio for the duration of this cycle. G8.1 isn't a big enough change.
Meanwhile, the Rendo folks have stuff for multiple generations, so thumbs up for that.

Thanks for the tips. In an effort to conserve space, I deleted all my Daz3D packages after download/install. Will have to consider prioritizing budget more storage. Fortunately, the 8.1 stuff is the lowest priority to me. I went from V4/M4 to V6/M6 to V8/M8. I skipped V5/M5 and V7/M7.
I still have zip files and OBJs from other sites going back 20 years. No idea what is on most of it. Maybe individual obj expression morphs to be added to Michael 2? LOL.
