Miss Nancy, nice globe for an avatar. Now imagine the ice on the top and bottom of that gone on the real one. That's the problem.

Thread: OT: Gas Prices | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The gasoline manufactures in the US haven't even been trying to build fuel efficient vehicles that run on petroleum. You could make a chainsaw engine pull a real horse around with the right gears. Not very fast of course which brings us to another point. To do a hundred miles an hour you need an engine and transmission combined with a drive train that needs more gas than say one that will only do fifty five miles per hour. You see America can build whatever the petroleum suppliers need to keep people here and the economy going for many many years. The problem is you need to know what fuel is going to cost. Manufacturers can't build for roller coaster oil price economics. They sell cheap oil people can afford a guzzler. The price goes up, people buy mizers. The manufacturer builds what they can sell. At today's high prices, mizers. If the price falls, what then?

Quote-"Me - I'm nosing around for ways to convert the Jeep's engine to natural gas (or perhaps propane, or perhaps both)... should drive down the costs nicely. I can keep using my pubTrans monthly pass nonetheless..."
Not really that cheap to run propane as it requires more of it and it's about the same price or more than gasoline in most places. Natural Gas is cheaper usually but only available in certain areas. As far as gas prices catching up with inflation, why are the Saudi's saying there's no reason for the price going up that high? Barrel prices are closing lower. I look at it this way. When the realestate market crashed the investors all ran to oil futures. They're doing the same thing to oil they did to the realestate market. Running the price up until it is unrealistically higher than it's actual value and more expensive than folks can pay before the bubble eventually bursts from the economic burden and there will be a surplus of oil because everyone in in transportation just about had to file chapter eleven. The price jumped to quick and the economy didn't have time to adjust.
Which equals the same thing as your grandparents only paid a nickel for a loaf of bread, but they could pay their rent and buy food with a paycheck of about fifty dollars a week. I can't even fill up with that now.

You can alter the png's in the UI folder and change the interface, but you have to screw with the xml files for the font. Effectively you could redesign the look pretty easy, but here again only so much without altering the xml files. They put the UI folder in the Runtime folder. Isn't that where you can also put 3rd party content? Why illegal?

Thread: Will HIGH-END programs and Daz figures ever be made? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote-"I don't like saying that, hence I'd encourage folks to support SM any way they can, so they have sufficient funds to do a fabulous job on poser 8."
I think the problem is a lot of folks are losing patience with Poser. It changes hands too often. The latest owner has scrapped doing figures for the most part and there is NO word that I know of other than here say that they are even going to make Poser 8 ever. In fact some seem to think that SM is a company that buys end of the line software and sells it until they've gotten everything out of it they can and that's it. SM needs to make it more clear what they're long term goals are so that those who would will back them. For now I suspect they have their hands full just fixing bugs in Poser Pro and plugins and also selling it to even be thinking about Poser 8. What's their long term goals and I'm not talking about promises either? Even the best of plans fall through sometimes.

I think Xeno is ussually honest and blunt in his beliefs. LostinSpaceman was saying be carefull. These words don't float off into thin air either.

I don't know but stories like that make me think twice about what I say. I love a good debate, but I really don't want anyone hurting themselves over the whole thing. Things I say don't make the earth shake even if I insult someone, that doesn't hold me responcible for snuffing themselves. However, the court seems to think so now. Believe me. Weak people that feel sorry for themselves and pet too much stock in others opinion of them are probably going to do something stupid eventually anyways with a frame of mind like that in this world. Who can tell they're talking to one? So as a rule we all have to go about lives now like Mr Rodgers. It's a wonderful day in the neighborhood would you could you be mine? See ya

Yes theories, but money is getting tight. We'll see if the hottest can maintain hundreds. I think even Daz is going to have to tighten the belt and run more sales. Even that's just another of my theories right now isn't it? Also, are rendo's over all sales lately down or up? What about CP? Or Runtime DNA. What's the feeling around the whole community?

Seriously, why be upset ConnieKat8? If I come up with an idea and I'm not willing to be part of it then it means I don't believe it either. You accused me of never having done it at all.
Considering your statement about free items I suppose you go by what is posted here on Rendo' alone and that's not counting everything not even for one item by itself seeing how those are posted on more sites than just here. The figures could easily be thousands. Are there not thousands of Poser users? If not let's just pack it up and quit.
Now as far as Daz is concerned and there 1.99 Plat deals. I don't even know how many club members there are. I don't have access to their records either in no way shape or form unless they volunteer that information and besides if you're paying a monthly club fee it ain't a 1.99 but surely better than list price and I'm sure they boost sales on those items because they are cheaper while serving another purpose at the same time(bait). Fact is nobody even tries to compete on the same level really. They are the best at what they do and if they removed the Vickie line Rendo would probably dry up and blow away with them. Not going to happen I don't think.
The hot sellers get most of the spotlight in advertisement and glory. What do slow sellers get? How can those items be made more attractive if possible? I say lower the price. Personallly, I'm going to leave the big names like Aery Soul alone. I don't think his product line needs any help thus far, but others could use some savy market strategy if nothing else just to get them moving and help get other artists and names out there. They aren't going to get it in front page advertisement when they aren't worth it. People have already passed them by in the market place. It is a subject of great debate as to what things are worth anyways when they don't move in the first place. I stand by "something" is better than nothing, but maybe if they did it would remove revenues from those high price Ultra Quality High Tech Glory Props we can't build without thousands of dollars wrapped up in software that everyone likes so much. For sales that only amount into the hundreds per your word. I don't know. How many sites are those figures sold on? Lets not keep talking about Aery Soul. I have nothing against. Use a broad spectrum of top end sellers. Don't say you're sorry if you upset me please. You didn't care at the time. Most recent was simply politically correct to say that looking at you saying that from where I stand now. It means little or nothing after the lashing. I'll take your advise into consideration though. It just seems like a lose lose scenario for my end while nothing is done and nobody tries a new approach. Times change.

Thanks,
Patorak, I'm willing to participate. I'm going to be alright. Not all of us can say we are the hottest sellers around. I've seen people jerk their stuff because it didn't sell like hot cakes and felt as though they were wasting drive space. I'm not going to do that yet or just fade away. I don't think I'm going to get rich just yet. I wouldn't complain if I did though, but I'm not looking for that to happen tomorrow.

Quote-" I think you should really show us how it's done, and do it yourself - rather then just talking about it!"
I don't know about show you how it's done and all that, but I am a merchant. Just not on this site. Admittedly I only have one product and it doesn't sell very well. It's not posted on this site so I'm not going to promote it. I only posted a picture of it here a few times. Provide me a trusted site and terms right, I'll post it for one dollar. Good enough for you?
