I wish I could get something finished so I could get rejected again. My motto to writing: If you've never been rejected you aren't trying hard enough.

Your latest one is very true for writing... Whenever you try to write something that the masses will like it never turns out, and then a few weeks later you look back at that short story you wrote on the side and think..."why didn't I finish this, I had som much fun working on it."

"We are what and where we are because we have first imagined it..." Donald Curtis garblesnix - I like that one. (how true, how true)

Here is one I stumbled upon recently. Thought it was interesting. "The best way to predict the future is to invent it," Computer Scientist Alan Kay, Founder, Xeroxs Palo Alto Research Center.

Now this one I like. I like characters that give you that sense that they may be a little off. He seems to have that neurotic edginess to him before he shrugs it off. Nice.

It's not bad. It seems well thought out. However your last line "I was so much older then; I'm younger than that now." I have heard that used alot lately.

Sorry Joe, been a busy week I haven't had the time to give it the thorough look it deserves. Nothing stood out glaring to me though. It is much cleaner and crisper than your original closing though. I won't be able to make it to the presentation (I'm in Florida these days) but I would love to see the animation. I will get back to you later.
Thread: Are lyricists writers? | Forum: Writers
I am a song writer as well. I was even talked into letting some one play and sing one of my songs at my wedding reception. Everyone loved it except me of course since I am sure that everything I write is crap. Some of my best works however start as a poem and then I pick up my guitar and it becomes a song. My opinion is (most) songs are just another form of poetry. So if you can win Nobel Prize for Literature with a poem then I don't see why it can't be recognized. Winning the award may be different but as I am not too familiar with Leonard Cohen's work.

I am in the U.S. and I have trouble with punctuations at the end of quotes. It looks strange to me both ways. It was much easier in high school when everything was handwritten. I could cheat and put the punctuation directly under the quotation marks. :)
