/me pops out the popcorn.
Aeikema, your post is going to generate some flames! Quite a lot of people take the AOM seriously, and your implication that it is a "joke" won't be taken lightly. Maybe you could have phrased your concerns a little more diplomatically? :)
The best way (in my opinion) of bringing forth talent one deems overlooked is to mention their names in these forums. Then, maybe people will see fit to nominate them instead, and question their exclusion from the nominee list.
That being said, I really can't think of any better way to come up with an Artist of the month other than by some sort of voting process. And based on the nature of such a process, combined with the typical paucity of votes, it's unlikely that everyone will approve of the final winners.

Thread: Questions about poser 6 "new ehanced feature" of "toon rendering" | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Unfortunately, I've scoured the web extensively, and experimented a lot on Poser 6, but I do not know of any way to approximate professionally drawn comic book art from Poser 6 renders without performing significant postwork.
Some tooning methods don't draw lines at all (e.g. Z-toon). Others draw some lines, but not all, and some others draw all the lines, but unevenly (e.g D-Toon). Others don't handle transparencies and textures at all (e.g. Poser 6's Cartoon with Line display mode). Some methods are so highly dependent upon strategic lighting that they have the uncanny knack of "overdarkening" portions of the picture that don't receive enough light, thus increasing postwork time, etc.
This information needs to be in a FAQ. :)

Thread: Where Can I find a Bride Dress (clothing conform or dynamic)? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
At DAZ3D.com, the victoria 3 morphing fantasy dress, together with the "Bridal Dress Design Kit" looks like a wedding dress.

Thread: Hair looks yucky rendered in P6 firefly | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It seems that Poser 6 Firefly's grainy hair texture rendering is a fairly recurrent observation (I noticed the exact same issue about 2 weeks ago and started a thread on it). Should we create a FAQ somewhere that answers this? If so, where do we put it?
Thread: Feedback? Does this look realistic? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I concur with SamTherapy regarding the skin: it's too smooth and "plasticky". Real skin has irregularities that should be visible in your image. And unfortunately yes: the Poser render engine can create better results.

Thread: Aiko Realistic - - - How??? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yes - "Aiko Realistic" just refers to turning the "Realistic" dial on Aiko3 to 1.000 using the properties dial. "Hiro Realistic" is analogous.

Thread: Where can I sell my brand new copy of Carrara 4? | Forum: Carrara
Yeesh - this thread has really derailed into something else. I just wanted to know where I could sell my Carrara 4 Standard! Thanks for the helpful responses to my question, GabrielK, Nicholas86 et al: I guess I'll try Ebay. As to why I'm selling it? Well, not to contribute to a flame war, but I already have Poser 6 and would have liked to integrate the two. However, I didn't know I'd have to purchase TransPoser (2?) to properly integrate them, and I don't want to incur any additional expenses. InfoCentral: Yes, my username is derived from the word "junkmail": it's the first thing that came to my mind when renderosity.com asked me for my email address in order to register. I am loathe to provde such information to websites as it seems to be interpreted as a signal to bombard the address provider with random junkmail. Thankfully, Renderosity seems to have been an exception to that rule. Unfortunately, I'm not interested at all in AnimationMaster. Thank you.
Thread: Eureka!? (Toon Renders) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Attached Link: http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=989974
Thanks for all the helpful advice. I've made some changes in my technique. This is a link to a new render that (in my opinion) is even better! What do you think?I postworked many of the lines to make them look more even.
I also tried making the shadows more drawn (I hope I did a decent job of it).
I "toonified" the clothing
I gave the characters less pale textures, etc.

Thread: What a Man! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Just my opinion: That Vicky 3 face looks incredibly unrealistic (i.e. facial proportions all disproportionate) compared to the Apollo face ...

Thread: How do you create a thumbnail from a poser render to add to the gallery section | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I agree with the above advice (i.e. either crop the image, or shrink the image to a size less than or equal to 200x200 pixels), but I have another addition: If you have Photoshop 7, use the "Save for Web" option for your thumbnail rather than the plain "Save" option. For some reason, the former option compresses the file size a lot more effectively than the latter. This is important as the thumbnail has to be less than 15 kilobytes.
