Quote - Lighthearted social interaction is definately not useless for creating community and friendly kind of atmosphere. It's disappointing to see that some people fail to recognize it's value.
Largely agree but, possessive pronoun with an apostrophe?!?! Oh dear, oh dear.

Quote - Nope, yuz are all wrong. Alien and RD have the same basic plot - Put seven people in a room and kill them one at a time. :)
Wot, like the Agatha Chrisitie story?

Quote - "BTW, different movies but - has anyone ever realized the similarities between Alien and Reservoir Dogs?"
Sam - What, the Aliens all had nicknames after colours? Sorry, you've got me on this one!
Well I could go out, put some dinner on the stove, go to the loo, take a shower, wash up a dish, serve my dinner, come back in and not have missed an involving moment in either of them. That may just be me though.

Quote - Master and Commander ain't bad.
Isn't it? On reflection I realise that I liked "The River Rat", but that doesn't really make up for some of the others.
Quote - Acadia, you must face reality: you are quite possibly the only person in the entire universe who has watched even a nanosecond of this film you mention. If the studio gets wind of this, you'll be president, treasurer and secretary of the appreciation society. Look on the bright side: the secretary's tasks aren't likely to be too onerous. Better still, drop this line of enquiry.
I do seem to recall though, something with three freckle-faced Californian kids finding a polynesian type boat, in an enchanted cave, lauching just as a tsunami arrived and, having ridden the storm, finding themselves on a beautiful island where...
Edited to add: Really lost any impact through my session timing out twice, plus one MySQL error.

Quote - The only other crap boat pic I can think of is Titanic.
To be perfectly honest, I never really liked The African Queen, or Mutiny on the Bounty. Come to think of it most boat pics are pretty crap really, aren't they?

Quote - Hmmm.... acronyms... I wonder what ICECREAM stands for? Anyone wanna try to give that one a lick?
Sounds a bit chilly, I think I'll just go to bed now, get ready for the storms we have predicted for tomorrow.

Well, you would do, wouldn't you? :)
Absolutely. There's no point in an acronym that people can't get their tongues around.

Hmm, I've never really got to grips with the rules for what initials should be included in such abbreviations. I'm sure that conjuctions used to be ignored and, as someone recently pointed out to me, most UK universities exclude the word "of" in the abbreviation for their Departments of Social Sciences. Conversely our Department of Education, whilst taking every opportunity to say how important such study is, positively emphasises the conjunction in Computer Literacy and Information Technology. Probably just down to how pronouncable an acronym it makes?

Masterpiece though it is on other levels, Cape Fear had some pretty rubbish storm effects, both the 1962 original and the 1991 remake.
