Hi all, it is very interesting.
The data seems to be available through github. So you can browse and download one by one the fbx that interests you. Or you can get all the repo using git itself.

git clone https://github.com/microsoft/Microsoft-Rocketbox will do the trick for dowloading all.

If you want to convey motion, engaging motion blur in the render settings is very handy. It will take considerably longer to render. Using adaptive sampling is a lifesaver; if a pixel hasn't changed after X number of samples, the renderer considers it finished and doesn't waste time calculating more samples for that pixel. So, near the end of a render, Superfly is actively working only on the most difficult areas of the image. I had adaptive sampling set at 0.003% for this render.
Very nice motion blur ! Cheers !

My workstation is using 13.3GB RAM rendering at the moment, so I would go for the 32GB RAM.
So that nobody misinterprets (and invests in hardware only to be disappointed), I want to clarify that currently Queue only assigns entire renders to a remote; Queue does not distribute a single render over multiple machines. That has been on my wishlist since Pro2010.
Yes it It could be so good if it was buckets that where distributed and not only frames.... may be poser 13 ?

It may be your image, i can see the preview in the node with same fresh new version. I encoutered a bug when i clicked the key to animate the rotation, the interface looping refreshing the background properties, but it worked in a way i could get out and render a movie with rotating background.

Thank you for you answer. I'm still a bit bit puzzled, to why it's like that. I have to make experiments. I suppose it is depending on the focal used to capture the image used as texture for the background.

a couple more notes: If you remove the default nodes like I have done in this image they will be put back in and re-attached to the root and you'll have a grey background and lighting. Just leave them in the window but not attached and that problem is solved. Also, you might need to use the Post FX exposure settings to lighten or darken the image when you are done.
First thank you for sharing this, i learn every day with posts like this one.
Changing the scale do not work, with minus i can revert the hdr, but 0.5,0.5,0.5 do nothing. rotation, works. how do you scale the background in cycle ?

Thread: Adaptive Sampling - what's that? | Forum: Poser 12
what i understood from webinar
When you render it's made bucket by bucket. One bucket for a thread, At end of bucket render next bucket.
Visualize the rendering in progressive mode, filling slowly the missing points and removing fireflies ?
this parameter is a way to accelerate the calculation stopping it when almost nothing evolves.in a bucket.
basicaly : 0 means auto - magic. if you use 0.10 it means that when less than 10% of a bucket pixels changes in a rendering pass, it stops computing the bucket and move to the next one.
so the bigger, the blurer, the quicker.

yes, i didnt resist an tried. Multiples GPU is really nice. So much faster than 11 version. I didnt succed rendering with gpu in queue, i must check it again

Nice ! Now rendering wil be faster than ever.? i will test it this week-end

Yes, i noticed that adaptive sampling reduce rendering time but it can destroy the image if set too high. I think that when the multi-card bug will be fixed, it will be better than poser 11 for rendering in superfly.
