RDNA is an acronym for two other completely different thingsย
Well, it's not actually an acronym at all. Unless you can find a way to pronounce it as a word.
For examples: BASIC (the computer language) is an acronym, so is LASER.
Pedants rule!

I guess I'd have to throw in another vote for Wacom. I use an Intuos 3 (19x12) and before that an Intuos 2. Couldn't get along with Painter/Photoshop without it now.

Shrug. I was uploading a lot of stuff and most of it I didn't want people mail-bombed about. I was just hoping to be considerate, not a mistake I'm ever going to make again :)
Thread: How did you come across Renderosity.com? | Forum: Community Center
Search engine result, probably. Been here on and off for years now.
I've never much liked the site, but it has a large user-base, so you do what you have to, eh?

Try a Google image search for pulp book covers (or similar terms.) You'll find lots of examples to get you going. I had a need to do something similar recently and if you're aiming for pastiche then the best thing is to study good samples of the style you want emulate. Old book/film covers/posters are great because they often don't "do" subtlety :)

Been there too. Still am for the most part. I suppose I'd go along with the general "don't force it" advice. It's a real problem when you want to do something but your brain just won't co-operate. Not much can be done, but I reckon there'll also be times when you have so many ideas going on that you'll have to keep notes. :)

Well, not sure if this applies to anyone else, but I know I'll often go to portraits as a sort of "ground state" when no good ideas occur and I just want to do something. I try to get story-based pics done as much as possible. Oddly, even though they take much longer to do, they never get much of a response, but that might be something to do with the execution :)

Fair enough. I reckon I've missed better parties. :) Chat used to be quite lively around here, but it isn't now. -shrug- Shame, but there you are.

Well, they're using the non-standard BLINK tag. That was introduced by Netscape way back when. Unusually, MSIE didn't support it, but for some reason Opera does. Other browsers might, YMMV. :) It is generally considered a bad thing* (more of an irritation than useful markup, much like marquee) and the W3C recommendation for the equivalent CSS (2.1) text-decoration attribute is that compliant user agents can ignore it if they wish. * From an accessibility point of view - I think the usage actually does work well in this specific context, but I suspect I'd be in the minority.
Thread: Faceshop Pro thread closed by staff after degenerating into a flamefest | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, when they wheel in the cat pics the thread's generally f**ked anyway. It's called "forum etiquette" around here. Uncomfortable subjects are either vanished or reduced to crap. It seems to work.
Thread: I'm a dummy, i'm an artist and i just found the true use of Poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, I've used Poser the past as a basis for pencil work. :) Don't do that so much these days (these days I'm more into 2D/3D hybrids using Painter, Photoshop, etc.), but Poser can still help when experimenting with ways to visualize a scene before hitting the old drawing board. Sometimes just kicking back with the pencils does make a nice change :)
Thread: Notification Upon Removing A "Favorite Artist" ? | Forum: Community Center
I suppose am IM would be nice, if you wanted to take the time to tell the formerly favorite artist why you weren't interested in their stuff at the moment. I only chime in to defend the "repeat" offenders because in my case because I work with a specific set of characters, world and storyline. To everyone else my stuff gets repetitive. Couple that with the endless WIP pics and... Well, I can see where it could get boring :)
