Like to see all of carrara's import formats updated Poser and Studio. As well as the supposed universal formats. Wish I could have found my purches info for Poser 5/6 so I could have upgraded to 10 when it was available. Been fairly cheap to upgrade over buy. But I used poser for prep work for carrara till I started using DAZ content. Then I started using Studio to fix and convert content as well as use the Optitex clothing. Actually for a very short time Studio and Cararra played quit well together.

But hell, I still spend hours almost daily working with old scenes and old DAZ content in carrara. Be real nice if DAZ would sell cararra to some one that would and could work with it. But DAZ is not going to hand a tool to a possible competitor. .

Honestly can't remember how I was doing all the clothing and hair/prop converting in Studio. Just proof if you don't use it you lose it. I actually added the A4 morph of V4 to the clothing converter in Studio so I could use red vipers A4 clothes on Genesis.

Digging throw my props/architecture folder/runtime I found I have all of DAZ's old west buildings with interiors, not just the saloon. Got enough for a lengthy animation if I had the horse animations.

Now why did I get banned from DAZ 3 times?? hmmmmm Aught to start a IhateDAZ discord lol But for me you know I hate DAZ for what they did to carrara.

I'm wanting to move to the newest builds. C4D vanilla is just $60 a month. Add GPU rendering and it's $82. And Studio has a C4D exporter. Thing is, all CG apps are Maxon. Don't think any of them offer an option to buy any more.

I had a bunch of freebies that look good... from down the street lol Perfect back ground fill. Plus DAZ's barn, and old west saloon; with interior. That is a nice set, wish listed it. With that I'd have something the size of Tomb stone. But this has turned in to an $$$$ winter; hard freeze for 2 weeks, property tax, Tags for my Jeep, $750 mechanic bill to fix Jeep lol Be a while before I have any free cash lol But some ting that massive could spawn many scenes.

I'd be more motivated to give this a go if I could get it in to carrara. This has been on my wish list since optitex clothes were a thing in Studio lol May get back to it. Seriously considering subing to C4D.

You know I have deep seated personal issues with DAZ, and have never really seen Studio as any more then a scene prep app. Bur DAZ is the needle my stonemason fix is in ;)

Well the only future I see for me with Studio is dependent on how well it works with C4D.

Just curious why they are selling an obsolete plugin that only works with a long lost version of Studio. BUT, if I can use my optitex wardrobe in C4D I'll figure out how, I figured out how to make it work through Studio in carrara lol

I stumbled over it while checking out the close out sale on carrara shaders. I wan the hirez skins.

I can't use G8 at all. Hell can't use G3 ether lol Both insta crash carrara. :D

I've picked out a few shaders, hope the actual textures come with them. I have few hirez skins for G2. I used to have something to change the UVs on G1 to use V4 shaders and that seems to have evaporated from my library lol

About the only other things I am interested with at DAZ is the stonemason collection.

Once my finances have leveled out I intend to rent and learn to use C4D.

Sorry to say but that is more render engine then model. I can get good renders out of carrara with V4. I only have 1 reason to want to use G3.8 in carrara, that is what all the free clothes are made for now lol

Oh no Zad would never rush to the next version with out fixing the last. Is there really any point to new figures other then selling new clothes? Everyone rushes to the latest flavor of the month when it is still just ice cream.

Some are obvious. The one I worked on for hours yesterday and lost, was M4, and a stonemason set. Could be scifi, could be atmospheric, could be horror, could be portrait, could be beef cake if I take his jacket off... I'M SO CONFUSED lol

Some of my older work is simple empty scenes; setting up or staging a DAZ or freebie scene. Like https://www.daz3d.com/the-smoking-room . Hours working on that scene. Setting up all those lights, render, fix, repeat. Still not happy with it but looks little different from the sales page; well rendered far, far better lol At the time I ran in to 2 issues. Figures crashed the scene or made it lag so bad I couldn't work it. And I didn't have the proper costumes. But what genre was It? Sales page?
