Thank you, thats a good idea, too.
I did discover what I had done that messed up the works so badly to begin with. The good news is - the dark rose foot pose does seem to work well But - here's where I screwed up. I reposed the character after using it and forgot that, logically, one would have to repose the feet with the dark rose foot pose afterward. To help with the stabbing through the floor issue I loaded a floor prop which helped to give me a bit more perspective, then as hornet3d suggested, used a camera below the floor to adjust where the model was.
Thanks to everyone for all the great replies, I think this is the first time I've ever used a whole outfit without major poke through issues to try to solve with post work which is extremely good because my postworking skills are pretty much non-existant!
thanks again :)

Thanks! I'll play with it today now that I'm not so frustrated. One thing that may be making it worse is that the pose I am using is kind of awkward as far as the feet. Maybe I can fiddle with that a bit, too. I am woefully bad at posing characters, I can not seem to wrap my mind around the fact that they do not bend and move as we do. In the end, I pretty much assume that the difficulties I have are operator error rather than vendor oversight, lol.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I have hidden the V4 foot, but I didn't see a way to hide that part the stocking. Maybe I missed it, if there is a way to do that then problem solved. I didn't see a foot pose included in the package though.
Thread: black texture for Mil Dragon | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I checked again and sure enough I do have Millenium Dragon 2 so I must be missing some of the texture files. I'll pop over to daz this evening and reset my download so I can try playing with the settings to turn the blue one black.

that's a bunch of dragons! I must have a different dragon because the texture I have isn't nearly that good. Probably the LE version - I wonder if the regular Mill Dragon textures fit it?

I'm always fascinated with what others do with the dragons. The computer I had before this couldn't even render it. The one I have now will but I haven't done much with it yet - I have a wip going now. I'd like to see it with sss on it too

Thanks for the great reply. I'm sorry I made you type all that. No need to look it up just now - maybe we can revisit it later when I get brave enough to try for some fog! Its a wonderful effect. I'm still playing with my image, not at all sure about the color of the lighting and the dress. I snagged her a new dress texture at daz last night and will re-render it today and see. This is definitely the most complicated render I ever attempted. Couldn't have accomplished it without the help I got right here.

Rance01 - I read through the forum post but honestly, I know nothing about cameras and it was so far over my head. I checked out the ants image. The fog was a very neat effect. How did you do that? My desire to play with dof came along ages back when an amazing image was posted to the gallery, there's fog in it too. (Riders in the Mist by Sabotssnake).
markschum - being able to save camera poses would be great, I'm going to experiment because for me the hardest part of Poser is getting the camera angles just right and keeping them that way.
Attached is my image before any postwork - just slapped some grey in the background. Be honest and say what you think. I'm not sure how effective the dof is in a semi indoor scene really.

Thanks so much! Very helpful. I wonder, too, if maybe the other thing I need to do to start back over from scratch is to change the x,y, and z trans on everything in the scene back to 0. That'll be the next thing I try after repositioning the cameras

sorry I didn't see your reply. Drago is here http//www.daz3d.com/drago-for-millennium-dragon
The pictures show the copper texture for the armor on a black dragon and it looks so good!
Thread: alternative to purchased skin textures? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks everyone for the replies, I'm getting an education here.
SamTherapy wrote - Snarly's is for Poser 9 and up, not sure about VSS. I wonder if there is a way to do something similiar with Poser 7.
markschum - I'll try searching that way, thanks! I'll also try using a skin tone with the diffuse setting. I think I saw a tutorial the other day for something like that when I was going through the tutorial archives. As far as skin tones, what I am hoping for is just to make a decent skin that doesn't have to look real but also doesn't look like a shiny plastic doll
NanetteTredoux - thanks for those suggestions, I had a look at them - very nice and the price is certainly right. And thanks for the heads up about your tiling textures, I'll snag them today and see what I can play around and come up with.
I've always respected the talent of the artists that make goodies for Poser, but delving into all this has made that shoot up several levels. I feel bad that I make use of other's freebies and never have one to offer. Maybe I can make something after a lot of practice that some one else could actually use. (it could happen - maybe!) I got my funky old aiptek tablet set up last night and it still works so miracles really do occur! (I did notice it needs a bit more electrical tape its - coming apart again, lol)

I have never attempted creating my own. I don't think I actually am a good enough artist for that. I did check out a couple of tutorials today, it looked pretty tough. I have gimp and a cheap old tablet so not sure how feasible it is. It might be easier since I don't care if the skin is super realistic?
I went through something like 800 pages of the free stuff here and did find lots of goodies for V3 and V4. Huge thank yous to all the freebie folks out there, my runtime would be empty without ya!! Not a whole lot for M3 on either here or sharecg but maybe I need to change what I put in the search engine. For RMP I had a bit better luck by using 'for M3' rather than just Michael 3 or M3. I don't mind buying a few things for M3 (I just never did get around to it, what I did spend I spent on pretties for V3, lol) but the less I spend now the sooner I'll have the morphs++ for M4. There are so many cool looking characters in the shops for him now.
Poser 7 can use shaders so I was sort of hoping that might be some sort of option but so far searching for skin shaders has turned up nada. I found one packet of skin shaders for Cararra on daz3d - I don't know if those are useful for poser or not? My understanding of shaders is nil so far since I haven't really had poser 7 very long so maybe it doesn't work that way...

thanks for the replies.
That's a really good idea Red Phantom. I'll see if I can figure out how to do it!
hborre - Not sure which thing you mean but there is a black texture for the Drago armor but it doesn't actually cover that much of the dragon especially if you don't use all the pieces. You still have to have a separate skin texture. In the mil dragon textures there is a dark one but it doesn't render out black for me. just sort of dark brown in places.
