Thread: Rendercows sucks | Forum: Vue
The point is that the scenes render fine using the version before the latest update...so it is not a problem with the scenes themselves. It is rendering now on the old version of Vue 5i as I type this...
Thread: Rendercows sucks | Forum: Vue
Render size 1280 x 720 (HD). The scene has 3 poser characters and 3 ecosystems. Takes about an hr and 30 mins to render a frame on my AMD 3200+ with 1 gig ram. Scene file is ~70mb and poser files are maybe 2mb each (x3). I'm not sure if it is the size of the frame or the size of the scene, but whatever it is, everyone is complaining about "large" scenes. I'm not sure what the threshold is, but in my case, I needed 1280 x 720 and all the vue render cows would disconnect immediately after I started to render with them, but only with the latest Vue update...like I said...people are complaining about this all over the e-on registered forums as well.

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse...the latest update competely breaks the render cows when rendering large scenes. Of course, the render cows all automatically update when you run them with the latest version, so I had to go back and delete the render cow directory on all my rendering computers, re-install Vue 5i (uninstalling the updates causes more problems than it fixes) then re-install ALL the freaking rendercows just to render my scene...though at least now the scene renders with the previous version of vue. This is all over the Vue registered user forum...nice one e-on...keep up the "good" work...

Yea, the rendercows are not Vue's strong suit. My favorite is how all the rendercows crash at the end of rendering an animation. That is just one of the problems. I've detailed a lot of these problems in the vue forums, back when I was using Vue 4 "Professional" and they didn't fix any of it for Vue 5 Infinite...so I wouldn't hold my breath for any fixes...just try to work around it as best you can...

Thread: Here's one...why don't more artists create stereoscopic images? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
One of the problems with stereoscopic is you need glasses (for anaglyph at least). I also see the images you post are in side-by-side, requiring additional processing before I can view them in anaglyph. Not a lot of people have a pair of these red-blue glasses lying around. I know there is a way to "free-view" them, like those old magic eye pictures...but I can't see them that way. Maybe with new technologies, stereoscopic images will take off...then again...because of all the complexities, probably not...

Are you going to finish the armor for James soon? I really like the look of it and I'd like to get it before July 1st so I can get that Troll armor also ;)
Thread: Rotor Blades Animation!!! | Forum: Vue
Do you have poser? I'd animate the helicopter blades in poser, then you can import that as an animated poser object and animate it further in vue. I hate using vue for animation because the vue timeline frankly just sucks, but poser is very good at animating objects. For helicopters, I'd look at www.vanishingpoint.biz. They have some nice helicopter models with motion blur on the blades. Vue motion blur also sucks compared to this "fake" poser method, and the poser blur renders MUCH faster. Edit: I think for Vue 4 you need the "mover" plugin to import animated poser objects...

Thread: Beta update with Poser 6 support! | Forum: Vue
Speaking of beta, don't install the latest one for Vue Infinte either. It says it has enhancements to help with tree anti-aliasing when they are part of ecosystems...in reality, it makes it look MUCH worse...banding and black spots. Ugh...I had to do the uninstall/wipe/reinstall to get back to the previous beta.

There is a set in the market place. Search for Millennium Motions - Animals by pdblake. I have this set and it is pretty good. It has motions for the angelfish and dolphin as well as some of the other poser animals.
Thread: Michael 3 Combat Actions Motion Pack 1 | Forum: MarketPlace Showcase
Well if anyone was wondering I bought this set last week and got it in the mail this week. It is TOTALLY worth the money. I was looking for something just like this and had just about resigned to doing it all by hand when this came out. Luckily I also use Max so those props/tutorials were also very nice. But I'd say it is worth it just for the BVH motion. It is really a nice package and I have no affiliation with Alphauser51 (other than I buy his products). I wouldn't hesitate to by it again. Now I gotta go do some renders...
Thanks again Alphauser51 for these motion packs. I hope you come out with some more...I'd definately buy them. EDIT: I should clarify the motions do not come as BVH but I usually apply them to M3 and export them as BVH to use with other characters.
