Thread: new image rules | Forum: Fractals
I don't have too much of a problem with the new rules. It just seems to be constrictive, choking the creativity of some of the artist, just because they choose to use a vector or 3D program to enhance a fractal image. So, if I understand the rules right, as long as it is created solely within a fractal program it's OK. What if I had a fractal program that could map images onto a 3D object? It just seems to me that a lot of people are going to miss the opportunity to view images created with new techniques. How long before the changes take effect and offending(couldn't think of another word),images are moved the mixed medium?

Maybe I didn't read it good enough, but I have a question. "NOT allowed:Fractals mapped onto 3D objects which are part of a composition, and not the main focus. " Does this mean that if a fractal is mapped onto a 3D object as long as it is the main focus, it is allowed? Does this also include spheres created in UF?

Well, I guess I'll put my two cents worth in. I have only been doing fractals for a little over a year now. I have a very large collection of fractal programs; and I like to "play" with each of them. I love to experiment and try new things. I do not like to feel restricted to the use of only certain programs. If I have an idea, I'll do almost anything to achieve that idea (or as close as I can get). I'm far from being a professional, I do this mainly for my enjoyment. I like looking through the gallery and seeing something different ( which is becoming harder to do), and trying to figure out how that artist created that particular image or effect. Most people will stray back and forth on some particular tangents, but usually come back to the basics of their art. (The partially incoherent ramblings of a partially mad man!) William

Hey Carolyn, don't believe everything you read ( IE: the note from my other half)! Of course she always likes to help me, put this here, move that. I just wait for her to leave and put it back where it was! Just don't tell her I said this!:)))

Hi All, of course it was William that created this image! He specifically told me he was going to do this one, so I just stood back and told him what to put on it!LOL Congratulations to Tristana and Jock, excellent work! I will say a big thankyou to everyone for the continued support and friendship, it means a great deal to have such wonderful people here! Vicky
Thread: How big is your fractal collection? | Forum: Fractals
We have probably 2000 images of our own! I keep them sorted in folders for each program, with compositions in it's own folder. I also keep a notebook with the numbers I assign to each fractal. Hey, but that's just me! I'm one of those people, I actually have all my CD's in alphabetical order. And I can tell if anyone moves anything on my desk, no matter how small!

Thanks for the info! Mabe you can tell, but I'm just starting to learn PSP. I have had it for quite a while, just never used it for very much. Now I'm trying to learn all I can. So much to learn and so little time (and brain)! William

Thanks Gunsan, I downloaded them, but I can't seem to get the "transparent dark" to work. Does it need something special to make it work? Maybe it's just me! William
