Jeez, if it isn't as good as P5, seems to me like I should just give up and stick with trans-mapped hair. In P5, once you add dynamic hair to a scene, everything slows up tremendously, and then the rendered results are rarely worth all the extra slowness you endure to get to the finished product. And as far as the hair-room....that is one of the most frustrating places to work. (there, I feel much better now that I've whined a bit!)
Thread: How to blur the foreground of an image? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks, all. What I've learned here is after testing P5's focal distance option, is that it takes entirely too long to render. I'm just not that patient. So, until I decide to go with P6 I will go with Acadia's solution, and use gaussian blur. Acadia, not sure about the contract and feather instructions--it created a strange effect around the perimeter of the selection, after applying the blur--still, I get the general idea. Thanks!

Yes, depth cue confuses me. It seems that you select a color for depth cue, and that the image fades out to the selected color. So how can depth cue be a blurring effect? It seems that it's more of a fade-to-[selected color] effect??

Wow--great feedback. Thanks all. Seems like I'll use the Photoshop solution until I upgrade to Poser 6.

hauksdottir, thanks for the reference to that other thread. Lots of great ideas to experiment with there!!

Thanks, rreynolds, but I hesitate to take on another software. There's still so much to learn about Poser, and I'd rather rely on the expertise of others, like queri, who have gained in-depth knowledge and produce great results that they're willing to share. Maybe you can post a link though, for others who would like to check out the fractal freeware?

FYI, here's a link to my other experiment with fractals, which I actually think produced a better result, but the "Angle of the Dangle" image draws more hit due to the titillating thumbnail.Thread: P6: Yet another rendering problem | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This looks like a displacement problem to me. In the material room, try setting displacement to .001 (linked to the same material) and see what happens.
Thread: Where is the Collision Detection setting in P5? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I would think it would be helpful to have collision detection on AS you're posing figures. That way you can avoid placing a figure INto an object instead of ONto an object. No?

I wish it were that simple. Check out the link to my gallery image--I mean, there are no clothes, and perhaps a tad of pubic hair visible...or is it the steam obscuring the view of something more? I don't know, I honestly don't know...Thread: "Nudity" vs. "Mild Nudity" | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
