This is an excellent illustration. The color, light and composition are beautiful, and the typography is well integrated. It looks so natural. Your struggle paid off and the result is well worth whatever efforts it took to achieve. --ratta

Nope... those were Jeff's, weren't they? This was a larger map, ratty fur, posted for someone specific. Naturally, I took it, anyway, because I'm a pig. Thanks, again, to the poster of the mystery fur. --ratta

Credit for the fur goes to someone who posted it here the other day. I forgot to write it down. To the poster, sorry, but thanks :) I remapped the Zygote rat with UV mapper, made the map using the fur, created a bump and there you have it. Wilma is lit from directly above, and I think that's what makes the fur look so good. I don't like Max's pose/lighting; I'll take another crack at it, eventually. I wish I could finish Lover's Leap Roach Motel (www.ratta.com/max). The scenes are just too big for Ray Dream to handle (it gets very slow). I'm slowly porting all the props that are original over to Poser. Someday, when I have a little more time, I'd like to get a site together with all the stuff I've made for the Motel. There's a ton of it. And, write more, and model more, and... --ratta

Of course it would be easier, Legume. I didn't say I was a smart person, did I? Max would just say, "Oh." Anyway, lighting and composing in 3d is what I enjoy most. That's why the mose thing was bugging me. I'm still an art director at heart, I guess, and retouching was always the last resort for me. Drove the photographers and video directors nuts, but I guess it's just one of my few but significant character flaws. Heheh. --ratta

Yeah, tried that, too. Looked like... well was weirder than the light. I'll post the pic soon. It's just about done enough for me. Thanks. --ratta

Well, I did the grouping thing, set the new material to 50% then 100% transparent and didn't like the effect. I mean, the camera is looking right up his nose. Maybe it's ok the way it is. I'd add the pic, but can't seem to upload a pic in a Reply. --ratta

Ok. Grouping Tool, huh? Hmmm... real Poser stuff. I hope I don't have to think. Thanks Allerleirauh and thanks again for that hair. --ratta

How could I forget Traveller's morphs. Jeez, I wouldn't even use Poser without them. Thanks, Traveller. --ratta

UV Mapper creates a new map template AND a new object (you save each manually). When you're in Poser, import the NEW object; your old one won't work with the new map template. Took me a while to figure that one out. --ratta (not the brightest bulb in the universe)

Excellent work! Very dynamic poses, great composition and I love the soft quality and the colors. Great job! --ratta
Thread: WIP: New almost anime style armor. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Heheh. My desktop pic this week is a graphic from Bungie Software of... guess what soon to be released game? Oni. Yeah, the only way I can learn how to model is to try and copy something, and Konoko's armor was as good as anything else. I only have a picture of her from the waist up. I checked out the pic you mentioned and absolutely hate the rest of her outfit, so I guess the resemblence will have to stop here. I used the P4 nude female body parts as templates and built the armor around them in Ray Dream Studio. I can't believe I'm still using RDS after all this time. It's more frustrating than ever, but I know it pretty well and I don't have the dough for anything else yet. I was in the process of converting all my RDS models to Poser, when I got sidetracked into this armor thing. I had to make a smaller breast morph for the catsuit and a morph for the chest armor, both of which were wonderful learning experiences (sarcasm, slow, dripping sarcasasm). I do like the models, though, and have high hopes for this character. I wonder if it will ever be finished. --ratta

Heheh. Oh. That's reality, isn't it? I've heard about it. Research is the source of believability. I should remember that. Thanks, Huolong. --ratta

Hmmm... what is a receiver group? And would the lack of one cause a model to freeze? --ratta
