What a job to get the download to appear! Followed the directions to read to end - but trying either of the two links at the bottom just got me in a rotating cycle of the same pages - wasn't until I clicked the 'items you selected' up near the top that the files showed

..and if you want lossless full color, a much smaller byte load, and transparency done in your 2d editor, vue imports .png

..but no problem using ogl on xp pro .. you might want to go to opengl.org and root through their data as well as see if your vid drivers are up to date - you might also go to crucial.com and use their excellent finder to bag some more memory bcs its so inexpensive these days

Export as .cob from metaseq and it should come right into vue as the 4-piece object he built with his namings intact. I got a 3ds export resaved through DeepX as 3ds into Vue, but it made the 4 pieces different selections with new names

Wanting to test, I can't find a switch from/to OGL in Vue (or anything about it in Help), I don't even know if I'm using it by default, but I've never had the trouble you mention.
Thread: render just the cage? | Forum: Vue
thanks so much for the work of letting me know what I want to do with an imported mesh isn't possible except through kludging a cage in the modeler - Vue is still my fav renderer for stills; and this is undoubtedly the forum with the best atmosphere -)

Thanks for the attention -) esp thanks for the direct links, because waiting doesn't fix it, and there aren't any options for java in my ie6 options box like you show. Mine is a new Gateway XL700 system; and finding no java, I went to the m/s site to d/l their JVM and discovered it discontinued bcs so many people are being attacked through online java. Only fix is to d/l sun's huge distribution over a really slow dial-up; and having been hammered by an online virus, I'm dubious of the real need to have it. great tutes BTW !!!

sigh - i am using ie6 on xp pro at home and can find nothing in help or options about java - trying to close security holes, microsoft no longer offers java virtual machine - could i need sun's huge jvm just to view?

drat! even after refreshing - after even a reboot, your leftside menu will not appear on my xp pro system - effectively locking me out - what's wrong with basic html?
Thread: The Vue 5 Wish List! | Forum: Vue
great stuff -) ..file management - It's logical that Load Object takes me to the vob folder - With the XP file structure its a real pain that Import Object takes me to the same place, instead of the last folder I imported from. ..posing - I wish we could capture verts in camera viewport and either drag or arrow-nudge them.

Since by definition 'free' kind of posits unconditional, change the heading to 'Conditionally Free Stuff' ;-)
