i have deleted my last response to the message posted by tutone1234 on behalf of renderosity. it was inflammatory.

however, the responses by members to renderosity's latest answer express valid concerns and options. and i urge the staff of this website to re-consider their decision - which is grounded neither on good website design principles nor on good business practices.

i ask: at what point is it ever reasonable for businesses to know "better" than their customers? that is what has been expressed by renderosity in this thread. and renderosity is wrong.

it's 0207 DST. and the loading behaviour has changed markedly - for the better! are you tweaking? thank you for responding, clint. my apologies for becoming testy in these threads. however, i wasn't aware that you had responded in others. and the frustration of the bizarre loading behaviour was becoming too much. whatever you and the programmers have tweaked in the last 2 hours seems to have helped - from what i can observe.... and if you haven't touched the code or servers, then i'm at a loss to explain why the site's performance has changed.

well, bonni, i don't think that the response was adequate - not in the least. (and neither do you, i believe.) this website continues NOT to load properly - consistently and annoyingly despite the best efforts of the customers that have contributed to these threads. i am a paying customer - paying fees for a mailbox i don't use and for the privilege of uploading more than one image in a day. i am also a purchaser of products from the marketplace. and i believe not only that i have the right to lodge this complaint; i believe that i am ENTITLED to a proper, satisfactory response from the staff, also. furthermore, i believe that EVERYONE who has contributed to all of these threads with the same issue deserve the same: a proper, satisfactory response. ONCE AGAIN, i would like to call upon the staff of this website to respond to the issues that have been raised.

ok.... this is getting ridiculous.... the settings in the screen capture and resetting the cache do NOTHING to help this situation for those who tried this already - BEFORE the helpful suggestions. is it possible that having this many people COMPLAIN about the problem might give the complaints SOME validity???? so, rather than suggesting a "user error," try and come up with a fix, please. stop exhibiting this tired, stubborn, not-invented-here, cliched computer-geek attitude and TRY to apply the more professional, adult business skills of addressing customer complaints to this situation....

davo: you are bad for my bottom-line. i've been waiting for this model since you first hinted at it last year. now, i've gone off and bought all of it from daz.... thank you!

as a follow-up, the PCs i use at home (DSL or cable) are 2.4GHz, P4s w/512 MB RAM, 120 GB HDDs (or greater). on average, a renderosity page will NOT load (displays "missing image" icons) after approximately 40 seconds. that seems a long time to wait to confirm that nothing will happen.... refreshing usually gives me a properly displayed web page in 5-10 seconds.

ALSO, clicking on "stop" - while waiting for images to load - and then clicking on a hyper-link will almost always return a "page not found" error. "back" or "refresh" will return the correct "starting" web page. following a hyper-link from there may or may not result in the same type of behaviour - depending on the frequency of image posting at the time.

(note: it took 6 seconds for this message to be posted and 5 seconds for the site to respond after clicking on "edit.")

hi, xeno! i've experienced a noticeable decrease in performance since the institution of the graphical navigation. i've tried "local" adjustments to no avail. (i'm using IE 6, too.) i connect either by T-3, DSL, or cable - depending on location; and i believe that "hops" can be an issue, certainly. however, the "hanging" always corresponds to new images being posted in the galleries - which results in either the column, title, or banner graphics NOT displaying; OR only the banner being displayed.... when that happens, i "stop;" and then i "refresh." is it possible there's a server caching problem related to new images and indexing? otherwise, why would loading all images be impacted by new gallery images?

ok.... here are two things you could try.... (and one of them sournds stupid.)

first, reset the screen resolution of your monitor - i.e. if it's 800x600, try 1024x768 or even greater. once upon a time, i found that my dials, etc. had disappeared, and it was due to the "windows" being displaced off the edge of the visible workspace....

the second alternative is: did you click on "window" and then "parameter dials?" if it's not checked, it will not appear....

those are the ONLY suggestions i can make at this point. bonne chance!

i think that the responsiveness of the "PTBs" (?) has been less-than-satisfactory. thank you, elizabyte. i've responded to the other thread, as well.

the other option is to go to http://www.poserworld.com and see if the free runway is still available. no stairs. but it's a nicely made prop scene.

hi! i've used the prop a few times. the only way i know to "delete" the ceiling fixtures is to go into the materials room and make the light fixtures (ballast, tubes, etc.) "transparent" (1.00000) - with no specular value and no colours.
