After applying one or more of the INJ morphs, you do turn the dial which then comes up for that particular body part (...or head... or whole body...), right?

No, clothes are usually under 'Character'. Are you certain that you have bought actual clothes and not just texture sets for clothes (which are sold seperately)?
Thread: A little help | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Alright... one thing in advance: Poser is not 'I got it, so I can now right away create art'. It's a program that involves learning - much learning. I have gone my way from 1999 on from P3 to P4 to ProPack to P5, and am still learning (just about to create my first volumnetric lights). So if you want to learn Poser, you will need time, time, and even more time. But, to answer your questions: 1:Load V3 You have bought V3, right? Alright, go to your Poser main window, then click on the right side of it (the little black slider in the middle) if you don't yet see a 'Character / Pose / etc' window there. Navigate to "Characters", then look for your V3. Double click it, and some time later it will appear in your scene. 2:Add hair to her and texture it. You have bought hair for V3 (or have downloaded and properly installed a freebie), right? The hair is either in the 'Hair' library on the right or maybe (Kozaburo's 'Long Hair Evolution' for example) in the Character Library. You have to search it. If it's in the 'Hair' folder: Select it, double click it, then it's added. If it's in the Character library: Select it with one click, then click on the "Double check marks" at the bottom of the library. After that, go over the 'Figure' menu (at the top of the Poser program) to 'Conform to...'. Select (usually, if you have just one V3 in your scene) 'Figure 1'. The hair, which is basically another character, will then be conformed to your character. It's the same with clothing, by the way. 3:Load a body morph/INJ. You have bought the V3 Head / Body morph pack, right? Now select any part of V3 in the main window. Under that main window, you will see two dropdown fields. The left one has the name of your character (probably figure 1), the other one the body part you have just selected. Choose that dropdown field and select 'body'. Go to your 'Poses' library, navigate to any of the "!V3 INJ" folders, select the INJ pose you would like to apply. Double click. Nothing will happen. Now open over "Window" the "Parameter dials". Search for your just injected morph. Turn the Dial to something between 0 and 1 (sometimes, also negative values are possible). Voil- there's your morph applied. You can usually mix and match body and face morphs. 4:Apply a body texture. You have bought and installed either a texture set or downloaded and installed a freebie, right? Go to your Pose folder and look for the MAT folder to which the MAT poses of that texture set are saved. Select any part of the character that you would like to texture, then double click the MAT file. The texture will be applied to the whole character. Be careful: You can only use V3-, M3 or SP3 textures on V3. Judy-, Don etc. MATs will not work. 5:Finally pose her the way i want. Now either you use one of the poses in the library, or you carefully learn to pose yourself... I want to add clothes and fit them to her You have bought at least one clothing set (or downloaded a freebie) which is specifically for V3, right? Then do the same as for "hair if saved in the character library". Hope that helps for a start. As I've said, you will need a long, long time to actually learn Poser. And even then, the 'Create beautiful and outstanding art' will not magically appear - that has something to do with talent, which doesn't come with 'just' learning the program for some years ;-) Good luck! Best wishes, Sabine

Just because a program like anti spyware of a firewall is free doesn't mean it's not good. No, but it's useless if the user doesn't know what it does or how it works. Imagine you have the best firewall in the world, but somehow get a trojan on your computer (friend's CD?). How, do you think, would your firewall tell you that this trojan is trying to access the internet? a) "Hi, here's the very bad big Trojan IWILLCRACKYOU and it's trying to access the internet. Would you like to allow that?" OR rather b) "Hi, this is the Internet Explorer / Windows Update / any-internet-requiring-useful-software-on-your-computer, and it would like to access the internet. Would you like to allow that?" and, if b) would pop up from your firewall - would you allow it? A virus scanner is nice. But remember that if you 'just' update it once a day with new virus definitions, a cracker still has at least 24 hours in between to create a virus / worm / backdoor / trojan which your virus scanner won't detect. And I'm speaking of updating it every single day, plus the aforementioned virus / worm / backdoor / trojan would have to be recognized by the virus scanner programmers within that time, so that they are able to write a virus definition - which is often not the case. So - to make it short: If you have no idea of the internet and its risks, and if you have no idea how to avoid them, then, by all means, stay off the internet. However, if you know what you're doing, if you know that you must not click on and download everything that doesn't jump away fast enough, then you don't need either a virus scanner or a firewall. I've been on the net since 1995, up to twenty-four hours per day, and in all that time, I have caught one virus - through a friend's CD ("100% virus free!" - Haha!). And I neither have a firewall nor a virus scanner. BTW, Bones: SOOOO glad to read something from you again!

Oh, I would never expect anyone to work on the weekend. It's more like so that I understood the 'two days' as 'working days', which makes your timing perfect ;-) Best wishes, Sabine

Er, does it come with the Marilyn figure? With a ton of morphs in V3, creating a Marilyn Morph is not difficult. There are, however, two items in that particular picture which were a challenge for me: First, the hair, and second, of course, as I'm a girl, that incredible gown. Smiles I have made both, the first by extreme rigging of Kozaburo's Long Hair Evo, and the second by creating a photorealistic texture for The Dress ;-) We also have one, it stand in our Church We too - the church is right across the street. Unfortunately, a) that particular one in our church is a little different (as it's from 1621) and b) I don't have a 3D scanner :-(

When I try to download, (using dialup) I find that it will take 26 hours! I'm just wondering about two things: a) what kind of internet connection are you on? Dialup or DSL? b) If you're on dialup, hmmm... you could have guessed that the content of something that's usually shipped on several CDs might take some time... Now, DigitalRiver's FAQ says: "This site provides downloads that adheres to the HTTP 1.1 specification that allows for re-startable downloads. That's usually correct. However, the usage of http 1.1 doesn't only depend on the server - it also depends on the browser. What kind of browser are you using? If it's a newer browser: Do you have a firewall? Or changed the settings in the browser? Perhaps the settings are wrong to resume the download (i. e., for example, if you "taught" your browser never to read from the cache, or if your firewall settings are so that it's determined to always download anything again).

Wow, thanks, that was really fast! And I was looking for a 'speaker's desk', which was my best guess on the naming for that item... lol...

Doesn't it depend a little on how the contrasts are on the bumpmap? If you have every grayscale from black to white on your bumpmap or just something that floats around 50% gray makes a difference... ;-) Anyway... a) as I wrote in my first posting, that was the first rendering test in P5 with this texture. So... settings are subject to change... but... b) as we have by now found out, this still doesn't explain the existence of a nonexistent mesh displacement map in her face.... ;-) Pktchen: Test test test TEEEESSST... Renderrenderrenderrender... oh, wass'n das. DATT sieht abba komisch aus, datt schlepp ich ma' ins Forum... ... ja... ;-D

BTW II:
For being a member here for just one day and describing yourself at being 'new' to Poser, you have a remarkable textures-, characters- and environments collection from this store. I'm impressed. It's just a pity that you don't also credit the characters in your gallery. Even if that's optional, it's always nice to look at - it would show that you honour what others have created for you.

If you are:
Why don't you post your picture to the gallery, but instead to the forum?
Oh, I just saw you did post your image to the galleries also! Why post it here then?
BTW, that image looks as if it was stretched wider than it should be. Why is that?

Thread: Flickering in animation driving me nuts! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yes, I think so. Perhaps the RealPlayer does something to the system's settings, or moreover, it affects the movie codecs. I just know that I can't render an animation successfully unless I uninstall the RealPlayer.
