No Locking the figures isn't gonna do anything. Because the hands that are moving belong to the same figure. Although I suppose I could use two copies of Ben with just the right hand being used in one and just the left being used from the other......
That way they won't effect each other.
Ok I'll give that a try......

Thanks David
I want to do it myself so was basically looking for info about where to get started etc (Since I don't really know where to begin).
Just a resemblance is fine as I'll be running it thru a soft focus filter in PSP afterwards.

Most should work with 64 bit.
Although I'm not sure about compatibility of some of them with WinXP 64 Bit though. There have been a few people with problems.
It's just that most of them are not optomised to take advantage of a 64 bit processor or even Dual processors.
64 bit comes in handy though if you do a lot of high precision number crunching.

No that's not the issue. I'm using Netscape 8.1 which also uses the Firefox rendering engine (probably a bit older than the latest one).
Netscape/Firefox has the ability to resize images to fit in the window. Just testing to see if that is conflicting with the image resizing in the forums (there's a javascript or something in here that restricts them to a certain size).

Seems like i'm the only one still having this issue sigh.
Oh well, I'm sticking with Netscape 8.1 which uses a slightly older version of Firefox rendering.
Wonder if it has anything to do with the script that resizes the images and Firefox doing the same?
I noticed the freeze usually happens on threads where there are images in the posts. Have turned this off in Netscape to see if that will help....

Hi
I think a better way of going about this would be to decide on your budget first then shop around and see what you can pick up "off the shelf" for that price.
I just got a Dell Dimension 9150 with Dual Core Viiv's (3.4GHz) and 4 GB DDR2 RAM (Dual Channel).
RAID is not a requirement but is probably a nice feature if you are worried about your data and losing it (I have 2 x 250GB SATA HD's in a normal setup with multiple partitions). Depends on your preferences and experience. I've been working with PC's for 15 years and as yet have not had a HD crash at all.
If anything I would splash out on the Graphics card for video editing and for 3d Modelling the RAM is probably more important. (I have an nVidia 7800 GTX).
Keep in mind though that most of the apps at present won't take advantage of Dual core technology or even much past 2GB of RAM. The benifit of having these added bits of hardware is more benificial if you're going to be running multiple apps at the same time. (ie you can leave Poser to render a scene while you do something else).

Hi Acadia
Well I doubt it is anything specific but something definitely gets stuck whilst loading......
I just noticed though that when I close everything else that uses the web things improve somewhat. I have DSL as well, but it can a bit flaky occasionally.

I doubt it's anything on the right......
There is something that gets stuck occasionally while loading and I'd say it's the new editor. After I turned of everything else that uses the web I had very infrequent problems. About 1/10 threads.
It's only happening in the threads, not in the actually forum.
It's a possibility that there is so many scripts trying to load all at once that if you have a slower connection that they get stuck and load uniformly like they are supposed to.

I had troubles in Netscape 7....
Switched to Firefox and still no joy. Have the same problem although a little less frequently. Same issue with Netscape 8 (also Firefox).

Thread: Problem using Firefox on forum | Forum: Community Center
Well I had some problems with Netscape 7.....
Switched to Firefox but I've stillg ot the same or similar problems. My whole window goes white and Firefox gets stuck. This seems to happen mostly when I have a slow connection. I have noticed that turning off my Instant Messengers etc has removed these issues.
It might be that a number of javascripts are trying to load simultaneously on the forum pages and if your connection is not top flight then it can get confused and stuck.

Thread: The new machine....... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
No not really.....
Poser is just one of a few high demand programs that I use. Mostly it's for doing complex models in 3DS Max which is probably more memory intensive than Poser.
I usually have 2 or 3 programs running at once and the dual core and dual monitors will do nicely for that.
It'll be out of date soon enough but it should last me a while (I hope :) ).

lol
It's possible I give my fair contributoin to it. But since I don't drive (being vision impaired) I don't have that additional contribution :).
Don't even joke about that Modus!!!!!
