I loaded a lightset that came with Luscious curves morphs for V4, nothing, then tried the default lights and nothing...I know Lux likes objects as lights sources, havnt tried that yet. Ill play with the tonemapping and load some point lights in as advised and see what pans out . I was thinking maybe i needed to use some of the other scripts first to export cameras lights etc seperatly..but I guess I just need to tinker more and try different styles of lights, thanks guys!

First experience with this script- I followed the instructions in the Getting Started read me that was included, followed intructions and only get a black viewport when Lux is rendering..obviously I missed a step somewhere but it wasnt included in the instructions.
I can probably find it in this forum but have 40 pages to sift through.

Thanks Kaibach, I found the script now Im need to figure out what I did wrong, all I get is a black viewport during the rendering process in Lux 0.7 after running  the script in poser 8 and opening the lxs. file in Lux.

Found the script...off to test and report.

Im so glad some of the productive members of the Poser community are looking into a physically based renderer exporter script directly from poser. Ive been hoping for this option for quite some time now. Thanks guys for your passion of 3d rendering, and generosity that us less technically inclined can enjoy such fun tools with tons of buttons and dials to keep us busy for years.

I would looooove to have a direct xml exporter for Poser..then you just export scene in xml format open Lux and open the xml file for rendering...as of now you have to export obj's, gather maps, import into Blender, fidget with the surface shaders, convert materials in luxblend and render, it works but takes a long long time.

the only difference between Daz and poser is that daz gathers the Maps for you.

Installed SR3, PC is not connected to Internet, so yeah I get this message about http request error. I just click ok , it goes away, Library loads faster than before, Memory leakage is stable, renderings are faster, it seem I can load more hi res figures with super gigantic sized texutre maps and it rendered 100 times faster...soooo...If all I have to do is click ok on this error message while it tries to connect to Content Paradise but fails, Im really ok with that.

Dont sleep on Daz Studio . get a Uber lights plugin or LightDome pro 2 , v4 and M3,M4 morphs ++, buy or model a few clothing items . Pilage the freestuff for hair and props and you'll be stock up on usable tools to do exactly what you want for about $80 -$100 instead of $200 for poser8. then if you decide you want to mix shaders and use IDL lights  or VSS shader for skin, drop it on Poser 8.

Ive been looking for a good Velma outfit for days! ...I think the P8 Dog would make a good base for a Scooby Morph.

Ive found that Lux Is awesome for Architectural scenes as of right now..version 0.7 should have SSS which will expand its use to organic realism and character work....pose and export from poser - imort into blender , light, shade, apply Lux materials and render with Luxblend. I cant wait to see some of your renders , this is a subject Ive been excited about for quite some time now!!

To me ,even the most basic use of Poser 5 produced better Art with a load and render approach.

And the twelve page tutorial to learn it.....Ive already managed to produce a render with Aqsis, it seems like a great engine as well, but i wouldnt mind tinkering with 3delight. Honestly Im just waiting on Lux 0.7 with SSS, I think organic realism is in their next set of updates(although it has nothing to do with renderman).

I have on of those too, but I never activated it , mabe Ill give it a look in blender and see what happends.

Here's a link just in case someone didn't know. MysterOctober I'm not sure how much of it was rendered in 3Delight but they do have an awesome selection of stills in the gallery from District 9. I could have swore that was Mental Ray and makes me wonder just how much of the engine Daz studio does not utilize.
