...I just hate the attitude that Freebie Providers are so generous,... Actually we are. These items we're freely giving to the community in the holiday spirit could have very easily ended up as items in a store. ;) I doubt I'll be doing very many freebies anymore because of this type of crud. Isn't a bit ironic that other places like RDNA, FaerieWylde & here aren't raked over the coals when freebies are given as happens when it happens to be on the DAZ site? Oh wait...because it's DAZ (or on their site) it's ok.

The more complaints about freebies...the less freebies that will become available. Why should anyone work on an item only for others to be ungrateful about the item? If you don't like an item...don't download it nor go around putting it down. Put the shoe on the other foot...what if it was something you created and gave as a gift that was being bad mouthed? How would you feel? Would it make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside when folks say you're stuff is cheap and just a marketing ploy because of where you offered it through? I'll make sure my next freebie lives up to your expectations of being cheap...well it is only a freebie ya know. :P

On my machine (AthlonXP 2000+, 512mb, GeForce2 MX400), D|S runs extremely well. Only time I've had problems with it crashing was due to bad file and a reinstall fixed it. Otherwise I haven't had the problems you've had. But just like any other program, D|S is just another choice in one's toolset for creating art. That's it...if you don't like it, then you don't have to use it.

The reasons I use it? Let's see... Loads faster than Poser Da lights!! They're much easier to use. ;) Able to do multiple selecting of items in either the scene panel or the surfaces panel. Being able to delete ALL the lights or cameras. Able to merge scenes with ease It's not a resource hog like Poser Interface is easier to understand The ability to arrange the panels to my liking Posing is easier Real time transparencies...no need to render just to see if a transmap is applied right. Spot renders!! Being able to do either a quickie render of good quality (OpenGL) or a more intense render (3Delight) And as for it being a year or two before being close to being out of beta...it's currently at build 0.9.7.8 with it looking it'll hit build 1.0 around the end of the year. D|S is an excellent way for someone to get into 3D art without worring about cost since the base and a wonderful base content pack for free. I used the Turbo importer for a quick test to see how it imported into Max6...it imported fine though I can't remember how well the textures imported though. wes :P

~It also isn't supported in DAZ Studio. :-( ~ Actually it is supported...just in a slightly different way. ;) There's a lil drop down menu in the parameters panel to select the different geometries.

Oooo pinup poses for the Mil boulder would be awesome!! ;)

Oh say it isn't so!! All those morphs for the Mil cube...they are so unqiue and would be perfect for all the nekkid Mil Boulder in a temple with a sword renders...

"What else could be in bryce canyon? maybe it's not bryce at all." Boulders? Wait I know what it is!! It's the announcement of the new DAZ Mil Boulder!!! It goes from being a mega boulder to being a tiny pebble with just a twist of the dial!! Of course you need the Mil cube for the Mil Boulder to work... :P
