Yah, and many of them talked about sacrifice, and were many times killed themselves. Kind of life feeding on itself, or something.

Definetly Zygote seems to be doing ok with their model line. (I'm still trying to think of more ways to use that dragon I got from them.) Someone mentioned that they could put some info in about the texture maps though. I'm sure that couldn't be a bad thing. If they could do a cool bodybuilder type (yep, like the freaks you see in the magazines) for under $100 so that you could alter vein thickness and a bit more muscle definition, the Barbarian/Warrior genre would really get a boost.

It would also be cool to seem someone like that guy coming towards you in a virtual-reality environment, where you could actually "reach out" to him. Hopefully, some day VR will be more affordable and with the way the equipment is designed, there are probably places you could have a character highly detailed like yours actually keep his high-resness. One place like that is the CAVE, in a university somewhere, can't remember the link to it right now. I think something like 4 facilities exist using that particular setup. I imagine that Poser characters would be a good basis for the continuation of VR development because they can fit in so many situations. Imagine someone putting sensors on their body and having Solemn do his thing, or making Vickie or Mike move around.....wow......

It's been really fun to see how people respond. Makes things more lively, heh. Been studying too much psychology and philosophy, I guess. I've always liked pushing people's buttons, to see how far their belief system drives them. It can make all parties involved grow as individuals. My paltry 30 years on this planet has shown me that with all of our differences aside, the ones of us who don't actually maim and kill each other over the small stuff might help the trigger-happy ones along the road a bit. Not really sure about that, but, anyways that's suited for an entirely different type of forum. I'll stop picking brains for now while everyone goes back to what they were doing :0) Peace to all.

I doubt any words I use will make much difference after this hole I've dug. Now that I've been branded as pompous, sarcastic, hypocritical, boorish, self-important, lamer, etc. It would be wiser to just stay out of sight for a while, and let my posts fade away into obscurity...I'll understand if you don't care to read this. Peace to all
Thread: Poser Bashing | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Oh, and when I'm comparing with Bryce, I'm just wondering if it's possible to have the figure transparent/translucent, etc. and able to move around like Poser figures can now for under $1000, or if it's just too cost/time prohibitive. If the code is done in C++ or Visual Basic or whatever, someone had given me the basic idea of how to go in and rearrange texture values. Just having smooth joints and clothing fit without a lot of holes would be probably enough reason to buy Poser5.

Hmmm.... I suppose I get this mostly from my mom. She always liked to push me to "achieve" and I kinda rebelled against it a bit. She just got elected to City Council, and they're going to be calling her that @#$% at City Hall, because she doesn't jerk around when it comes to getting things done, and she doesn't take @#$^ off of anybody (anymore) Just remember that my expectations aren't really designed to pressure anyone to conform to my standards, but I have this ability to look into the future at potential. (Yes, I am one of those metaphysical types, NOT new age, you can see it in my art.) I, and many others probably, can envision what the Poser entity could be, with the right combination of plug-ins or whatever. Great things begin when many have the same vision. Yeah, yeah, rhetoric vs. action. Ok....it's almost lunchtime. Pose on, DudesThread: Poser Bashing | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

Yes, I've done AVI like that. I have a capture card too, and I've done some martial arts moves and put myself in AVI in the background so that I could make the Poser figure follow my every action, because I can't get motion-capture equipment at the moment. It works really well, and I would suggest to anyone with a video camera to get an inexpensive video capture card that allows them to make AVI video to do this if it helps. Just replace yourself doing the action with another AVI or backdrop when you're done. But try making your Poser character interact with Bryce terrains, eeeek! (Can you say David Copperfield?) Probably because I deleted the incomplete post I had made. I have exported to Bryce and it does okay, but you can't make the poser figure actually animate well inside the scene, you have to move him around in front of a prerendered movie screen background in Poser. Whatever, I don't want to seem like I'm bashing....(must...control......unrealistic.....expectations.....aaarrrgh!)Thread: Poser Bashing | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

OH, and by the way, I'm not bashing Poser. I think for the price, it's a pretty kewl app. I use it all the time. I just may have made the newbie error of expecting waaay too much from it after I played with Bryce4 and was awestruck at the way it handled textures and stuff. I see now that Poser doesn't seem to be designed for that awe-inspiring type of finish straight out of the box. I should know better, because we also build machines at my job, and I realize a real revenue earner in the tech field is "Upgrades, big ones, and often..." mea culpaThread: Poser Bashing | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

A guy I work with (we're the local ISP) told me he saw some program that used real, human, motion, capture models that translated perfectly over the mesh, and the inverse kinematics were superb. Unfortunately, he forgets the name of the program, or how much it retails for.Thread: Poser & Bryce Jobs | Forum: Community Center
I would like to know more about your company. Do you have a website? Here is mine. http://www.users.acs-isp.com/zalmegrastudio

AMEN. A Carrarra/Poser/Bryce Hybrid would be a killer monster, especially if you can by the parts separate and have the sum to be an awesome app. I'm sure it can be done. Should we write our Congressman about it? Zalmegra

Well, I'm having an ok time importing figures, but what I want to know is why didn't they make it so you can animate the freaking Poser character in Bryce instead of having to "paste" the Poser figure onto a moving background. The interfaces are so similar, they could do that "room" thing like they have in Carrarra to switch back and forth between. That would be so practical. I hope someone wakes up and does that. Or if I dream really big, they could do plug-ins or combine Carrara/Poser4/Bryce4...whatever....something that really WORKS together with great results.
