Hmmm.... I suppose I get this mostly from my mom. She always liked to push me to "achieve" and I kinda rebelled against it a bit. She just got elected to City Council, and they're going to be calling her that @#$% at City Hall, because she doesn't jerk around when it comes to getting things done, and she doesn't take @#$^ off of anybody (anymore) Just remember that my expectations aren't really designed to pressure anyone to conform to my standards, but I have this ability to look into the future at potential. (Yes, I am one of those metaphysical types, NOT new age, you can see it in my art.) I, and many others probably, can envision what the Poser entity could be, with the right combination of plug-ins or whatever. Great things begin when many have the same vision. Yeah, yeah, rhetoric vs. action. Ok....it's almost lunchtime. Pose on, DudesThis site uses cookies to deliver the best experience. Our own cookies make user accounts and other features possible. Glad to hear from you so soon. I like that in a company. I had meant to include in the subject line to forward to the design team. This is a basic problem between customers and the retailer, that the customer many times doesn't realize what all goes into making a product such as Poser. My short time in the 3d realm has made me aware of the similarities between 3d artists and game designers, of which there is little difference it seems, regarding creativity and ingenuity. Let's use Quake by Id Software for example. I starting getting into the FPS (first-person shooters) genre shortly before the first version of Quake came out. Now, on the third installment of that series, I have noticed that one reason the Quake Community has kept alive and kicking for so long, is that Id keeps striving to make advancements in their engine, AND the players are able to make extensive modifications to characters, maps, and even the source code itself. Now, I know that when it comes to dealing with source code, things can get very tricky. Many times a mod god can go off on a tangent and make a supremely bastardized version so that the mod will appear to make the original game structure nearly unrecognizable. That can be good or bad, depending on one's perspective. Poser has seemed to gather a similar type reputation, except that instead of a $50 game that you can buy from Wal-Mart, a person would probably have more professional aspirations when shelling out a couple of hundred bucks for a basic format, that he can then decide on a direction and make or buy modifications to it. The reason I keep referring to Bryce and Carrara I suppose is because it's amazing at the amount of functionality and sheer asthetics that are available for their price range. I see how Max has a dominant presence because there is so much that one can plug into it. I strongly believe that Poser could head in that direction, if....us creative types would have more direction. I suppose we're really longing for someone, somewhere to create utilities/plugins that could really enhance and customize the Poser entity so we could tailor it to our individual needs. Honestly, I don't know the primary direction your company is headed, but I was wondering if the plug-in angle is a realistic thing based on the number of units sold, customer feedback, etc. I kind of feel like I'm trying to represent a large portion of the Poser Community, but I'm not sure if I'm asking the right questions, or if the Poser Community will have to find someone within our ranks that has the motivation or resources to expand on this product's base abilities. Yes, I know, whatever you were to add to Poser, you have to be concerned, (Will it sell?) Not trying to knock too hard, but there are so many of us groping for those little "extras," and we're not sure about what types of plug-ins or costs, and such. We're sort of depending on you guys to figure it out, because you know what works best with your own code. Like I said, www.renderosity.com is an excellent source to go and take a peek at what people like or dislike about your product and what they really are looking for. I'im just a small voice among many, trying to figure out where we should take our characters to really make them shine without too much scrubbing. Thanks again for your time.
