Colors (colored lights) are strong to better show the style effects. I am putting together some Free and some Ecommerce packages of Sketch Render Presets. These PZS files are easy to load into Poser and use. I am also writing a Tutorial, all of which should be available in a few weeks. 3Don

Thread: Great Renders? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm on a Mac, too, and I get great renders. Set your Render Options to a New Window, at 2 or 3 times the size of your Studio Window, set Rez at 216 or 288, select Anti-alias and check Okay. Then go back and Render. Of course. some Renders look great because the Poser image was imported into a new , non-Poser background. You can achieve some background effects with background pictures and the Sketch Design feature. 3Don

Try making your word using the PZ3 Import method, using the lo-rez figures. Once you have made the word, change each figure, one by one, with a replacement from the library. Positioning the aletters with lo-rez people makes it go faster. Because different figures in Poser are proportioned differently, you may have to do some tweaking. hope this helps.

Each Alphabet pose set was supposed to include a Tutorial on how to "write' words with Poser letters. Check your package or contact the seller for the Tutorial. Email me and I will send you a copy. The Alphabet was packaged as PZ3 files, which included the posed figures. One figure is a Parent figure and the others are attached Children figures. That way you can move entire letters. To begin "writing" a WORD in Poser, open the first letter of the word, such as AxA.pz3. The number of letters in a title indicate the number of figures in a pose, and the X shows they are attached. Position the letter to the far left. To add the next letter, Import it as a Poser Document. It will appear as a whole unit and can be moved as such to its relative position. Repeat the process to add more letters. SAVE after every Import and every final positioning! Done correctly, it goes fast. Once you have a Letter open, you can save the individual poses to the library. 3Don

Thread: Epson Printers | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have had an Epson 1520 for 3 years and it still works just fine. Ink jet inks will fade in strong light. I did exposure experiments on regular and matte papers. Direct sunlight fades the pigments quickly as would long time exposure to ordinary lights. Exposure to just flourescent lights does not fade colors as fast. I would think and hope the higher quality Epson printers would be more robust than cheaper models.

See the simple Props building tutorial at my site. There are quite a few things you cna build and use in Poser alone. I have built poseable and animating characters with Primitives alone. http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/vision_vessel Click on the Poser button...

Try scanning a piece of parchment paper. Size the image to your Poser window size. Paste in as a background picture. In Sketch Designer window...click on background (upper right) button and set all dials to zero. You may have to experiment and bring up some dials.

More reference images can be found at the colt.com site and the navyarms.com site. Search for Blackpowder Arms. The image above is the 1860 Army Revolver. If you order their print catalogs, you might find other, angled views.
Thread: Resolution in Poser 4 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Before the Patch, Poser would export a rendered image to size, but the exported file would not hold the resolution. With the patch, Poser will hold the set resolution, but recompensate by not holding the set size. Nothing has really changed. Before, a larger window was set, then downsized in Photoshop to increase the dpi for printing. Now, a larger resolutin is set, then downsized to increase the image size. I am on a Mac. Still only one shoe instead of two, but it's on the other foot now.
