Thread: Problem with procedual terrains | Forum: Vue
The way to stop procedural terrains from changing shape when moved is to make sure the mapping cordinates are object parametric and NOT world cordinates.
I think it is stupid that this is the way vue works but....
Everytime I make a procedural terrain I either get a world cordinate procedural terrain or a object parametric procedural terrain. It is a crap shoot as to which type of mapping cordinate the procedural terrain will be when vue generates it.
Anyhow the option is in the material editor.

Both towers, the Morph and the LE split perfectly fine with Poser 5 and Vue Infinite 5.10.

I used a poser 5 import called Gramps. I split it in Vue Infinite With 5.10 update and it worked. Maybe you should try this model and see if it works for you, too.
I'll try the DAZ fairy tower model next.

I didn't mean to disgust, I merely am trying to understand why you would take a longer route to achieve something similiar. I thought there was an advantage from the split method. If anything using the group command gives more choices to hide and delete parts of an import than the split. Am I right on this? Anyhow, I will try to split a grouped poser object with vue with new update to see if it works. The update so far works well except for my vue test rendering scene, which, now renders 6 seconds slower. Not a terrible loss.

why would you split a poser object when you can import it as not a group? This way you could still hide and delete objects without using the split command.

That program in the link above only works with 3d studio Max & Maya. Hopefully, vue one day.
Also I think it only works with Nvidia Quad cards.

Actually, this link here: http://www.nvidia.com/page/gelato.html
shows that video cards can help with rendering 3d apps and are not just for games.
BTW what is a grfx?

EVGA NVIDIA 7900 GT or GTX are both good cards. Also, the 7600 is very affordable. Some of my friends prefer ATI & CrossFire over SLI & NVIDIA. I care little about SLI or Crossfire and prefer a single Nvidia 7900 GT.

Build your own computer by buying parts at Newegg.com. You can save a lot of money, learn a lot, and it is fun. Todays computers are more simple than ever to build yourself even if it is your 1st time. If you want to get ripped off and still have a computer that sucks buy a DELL. Buy AMD dual core either the opteron or the 4200 x2 and up depending on what you want to spend. AMD OC easily and the performance boost is awesome.

Incredible. I enjoyed it much. I liked everything especially the camera work, DOF, and the animation. In fact, I liked it all.
