Oh nooo, it's embarrassing! :-)) Yes, there is a mix of good things and bad things in my gallery; after 3 years I still do pics of lower quality...but give me a decent computer (1000 Ghz, 10 Gb ram) so that I can do some acceptable renderings; recently I failed to accomplish some pics because I couldn't even plot render the damn thing :-) on a 2,2 Ghz/512 Mb ram so it really turns me off and destroys my patience...

Well, I mentioned Terragen because it's alive and they're planning a lot of upgrades until 2005 (treelab, vegetation, new interface, mesh import and much, much more) so it will be a serious challenger to Vue and Bryce; I like its crispy renderings but hate the interface so I keep to Bryce as long as possible. ;-)

OMG! I've checked out the attached link above (http://www.bryceformac.com/) and saw the LIGHT! :-D It looks beautiful; maybe I don't have to switch to Terragen after all (No, I love its photoreal render engine that often kills Bryce's :-) Hope this large update is not only for Mac...

Prufrock81 : There is a renderfarm (250 CPU:s, see link) that HAD Bryce on its renderlist but they took this 3D software away; all you can do is to calculate render times and costs...Thread: MC Escher WIP - how am I doing? | Forum: Bryce

Hi! I heard about your mishap. The same happened to me (2002 May): I've lost EVERYTHING at a burglary (2 computers, backups - 30 cds - 4 years of work and more) and I didn't get ANY compensation; I still suffer from it but the Lord helped me to get a decent laptop so I can continue the digital dreaming.

Only a minor problem: your pic changes brightness (about 10-30 %) depending on the viewing angle; it can be annoying that you don't really know how light/dark your settings (sun, shadows etc) are; you should do the final render and postw. on a CRT screen.
