PInstall is a standalone application which allows you to install poser library objects (characters, poses, textures, etc) without needing to figure out which files go in which Poser subdirectory--PInstall does it for you. You don't even have to unzip library files stored in zip archives. Also, you can use PInstall to unzip and install a variable number of archives automatically! You can also try my application PInstall at the attached link. It only happens with the dark texture for the wedge cut. So I guess it's a texture problem?? Has anyone else experienced this problem with wedge hair?

Why are there no clothes for any of these figures? I know the morphing clothing pack is in production for Mike 2.0, but what about the others?

I use MaxPose2 and it is more stable than the plugin in my experience. I haven't run into a situation yet where it didn't work. You can try his demo to get a flavor for how it works. You work flow is longer because you have to export, etc, but at least you know you will get the results you want.
