The surfaces of the head stones are weathering. Much of the writing has faded.  William was a soldier in the War of 1812 (another lengthy skirmish with the King of England :-)). Looks like both bases are slowly sinking and poor Sally's stone has been broken off and roughly recemented with some very unsightly mortar.

Haven't found any crumbling buildings yet, but maybe this makes a better story anyway?

This sign, plus a red one like it on the other side of this duck/goose pond in Roslyn, NY stays up year-round. Doesn't it seem a bit like crying wolf in the spring, summer and fall?

Hi Shari. I am on day 3 of a 21 day drive...of about 3000 miles in distance. Just read the challenge today (good idea including it on the comments you post). Will keep my eyes open.

Sometimes you encounter the oddest things along the highways and byways. Of course you don't see much whizzing along at 75 MPH on an Interstate...but I get off the big roads when I can.

Internet connections are a little spotty on a trip like this but I'll pop up as often as possible.

What a great shot on the 12th try is...makes you ask yourself, why didn't I think of that ? :-)

To reuse a few words I sent off via site mail to Piet (busi2ness) earlier, "I am very honored and I wasn't even sure my aviation/airshow images were going over. Oops, no pun intended."

Much like Juliette above, I am new to Renderosity and loving it. This entire experience is quite a treat for me and is very motivating to do more...  I do not intend to be a single genre type guy, although I have been heavy into aviation so far...but after taking 475 airshow pictures on August 24th, I've had quite a few images available to work with!!!

Most sincere congratulations to all the selectees for Week 35. And thanks to the Photography coordinators and the entire staff for running such a helpful and useful site.
