Erlik, "And that DAZ drakkar (by Helmut Schaub) has its own sail that can be posed in Poser." Hmmm I've gone right off Poser - having so much trouble getting it to do anything at all! But I'll go see if I can find that ship. Thanks. Fran

pakled, That sounds good to me - anything's worth trying once and some things get worn out! Fran

GROINGRINDER, "There you will find every tut you could possibly want." Koff, er no you won't, not unless things have changed recently. There are no "animating waterfalls" tutorials anywhere on the web, that I can find - Van Lippe is gone! Fran

aeilkema, "As far as prices goes you can find out all info on the E-On website. You don't need to convert, just go into the store and choose the uk and all of the prices will be in pounds." Oh lovely. I'm certainly going there! Thanks. Fran

ynsaen, Aha! Thanks, thanks very much. I was beginning to think Poser would just end up in the bin, manual and all! Fran

Carolly, "You will also have to determine whether the clothing is a figure and needs to be conformed or whether it is a prop and needs to be dealt with in the clothroom to fit it to your model." Is there something that tells us how to do this in the manual? I can't stand the cloth room - way, way, WAY too complex and not explained in the manual. So it had better be conforming. Thanks for replying. Fran

Thanks to everybody for replying. Unfortunately most of the stuff in FreeStuff that LOOKS good - isn't suitable in Bryce4. I do like JedSwindells stuff - all Bryce5 unfortunately. I'm plucking up courage to ask if JS has any ships in other forms that COULD be used in Bryce4... But I thought I'd just ask this question before that. Thanks to FW Tempest for the link - I didn't know about that. Thanks to GROINGRINDER, I'll limit my search to Poser stuff, see if that improves things. (even though I've come to thoroughly hate Poser!) Thanks to chohole for the 3D Commune idea. Erlik, what's a drakkar? Oh, and rj001 - there is no such thing as a tree lab in Bryce4. But I like the idea of a terrain for the ripped sails - so long as the ship I do eventually find (If I do!) doesn't have its own sails already... Thanks to one and all. Fran

Hey, just a thought, you COULD have flowers either cringing away from it - OR maybe leaning eagerly in towards it? Fran

I'd vote for the first one - I'd like to see snails and frogs running for cover! The second title isn't totally clear at first glance - 'WHILE drunk' maybe. But that's just me being pedantic I guess. Like the idea - wicked! Fran

Not that I can do anything like this yet, but the tomatoes look a bit flat - more like the surface of apples, need more shine, IMO. And even more, it needs a wet look to the cut tomato surface. I agree with more bump to the bread - but it looks pretty edible! Perhaps a teansy soupcon of more shine to the pepper but basically - the whole thing's pretty tasty! Fran

Thread: The Value of Vue? | Forum: Vue
MartinPh, "(I use Poser, Xfrog for additional trees, and Sketchup for architectural modeling)." Xfrog, huh? I've heard of that one too. "Compared to Vue I think Poser is an absolute horror - I simply hate working with it: slow, unintuitive, ridiculously impractical interface, constant freeze ups and crashes - everything that Vue is and does not. " Well you've certainly hit Poser on the head there! I'm liking the sound of Vue, more and more. Thanks very much for the advice. Fran

aeilkema, "Now I needed to depend on D/S Studio for my poser imports. DAZ D/S Studio couldn't open most of my pz3 file correctly and it's imo one of the worst 3D applications I've ever seen. The nightmare grew bigger and bigger." I too have been having problems with Daz - even just getting it to work at all. "Then Vue 5 came along, wow, where to start? " Coo, sounds nice. I bet it's expensive though. Thanks for the info. Fran
