Well, this is what I have so far, still ways to go with some modeling (bread and cheese slices and what-not).

Special thanks to GROINGRINDER for helping me map the texture for a bread loaf, believe it or not, that was the hardest part...

What do ya peeps think, anything to add to this collection ?

How models look so far ? (modeled in SILO :P)

Thank you for the input, guys, much appreciated ! :D

Really like the bread texture, the veggies look a little 'off', not sure why, just do to me, but what a great start!

It looks amazing and the bread especially is making me hungry. I would only question the cut surface of the tomato - it looks a bit dry and flat. Other than that, it's going great: composition is good, modelling superb and your olive oil bottle is perfect :-)

Thank you, guys, I forgot to mention that this is most basic render now, without fine tune-ups on textures (specularity for example, which is gonna depend on final light source(s) position), render time was only 20 minutes, lol :D Also, there is no enviroment of any kind, just models, it needs walls, window, fill light and couple of other widgets :D

Wow, super realism. Yeah, that bread mat is awsome. The veggies? more specularity, especially on the cut tomatoe(whiter center too). I know...wip. Amazing piece!!

Envy is the word to describe my state of mind. This sure looks good. I have nothing to say that would improve the work. I`m sure you already know where this is heading. I think Ill have some bread for lunch.

Kemal, put a darker grey into the spec channel for the tomatoes, especially for the cut one. And possibly a bit of reflection, too. Stems should be a bit thicker. :-) Oil is great and I'd bet the yellow colour was the main reason this rendered for twenty minutes. ;-) The board needs a bit of bump. The bread needs even more bump, so the grains rise up, cause they are quite flat now and look gamish. But all in all, it looks terrific.

Wow, you have really improved the bread texture over the one that I did. Did you keep the box mapping on it??

Kemal ( ) posted Tue, 01 February 2005 at 10:51 PM

Nope, actually, that is Cylindrical capped sir (since object was basicly made out of one starting cylinder I figured that proly would be the best way to do it)! :D

Be sure to post a link to the final so we can vote for it.

Not that I can do anything like this yet, but the tomatoes look a bit flat - more like the surface of apples, need more shine, IMO. And even more, it needs a wet look to the cut tomato surface. I agree with more bump to the bread - but it looks pretty edible! Perhaps a teansy soupcon of more shine to the pepper but basically - the whole thing's pretty tasty! Fran
