Er... Zhann,
I'll have to delay replying to your post - as I need to go offline now, a) to study your post in depth and b) cos it smells like my dinner's ready!

tjohn,
Yes, I have seen Zhann's tutorial - that's what I'm working from.
Thanks,

Darkness02,
Thanks, I do keep looking in the freestuff area - actually I look at ALL the freestuff areas I can find - fun, isn't it?
About the figure, well it looked okay in Poser (apart from being naked) but as soon as I got it into Bryce4 the hair fell off and the flesh arrived with strange numbers all over his body! And his eyes blanked out. Weird!
I've grabbed quite a few textures, (mostly woods - dunno why really but there seemed to be a lot of wood textures about,) although I'm not entirely certain what I do with them now I've got them.
Hopefully someone or some tutorial somewhere will help me to figure that bit out. (I've got the woods into Bryce - not sure about rock textures though.)
Thanks for your help.

Incarnadine/Richard,
Hi again. I have Bryce4 and Poser5. I'm finding Poser a bit of a poser... ( sorry, couldn't help it.) especially cloth and hair!
I'm enjoying Bryce4 - having used Bryce3D for some time it's more familiar than Poser - although nowadays the render times are getting a bit long in Bryce4, as I use bigger and bigger terrains! (I need more memory I guess)
Oh, I've found some clothes for my bloke now - Swordbearer from Poserfashion.net - although as soon as I choose the pose I want - he jumps out of the robe. Haven't figured that bit of the cloth room out yet.
I've tried growing hair - rather than using the hair from the props (?) which falls off when I try exporting/importing him to Bryce4 - but that comes up blonde, and I can't seem to get it out of his eyes.
I'd appreciate help with those two bits - if you can.
Thanks, Fran

Yeah, that's it! That's what Bryce4 has instead of a Light Lab. (couldn't figure out how to do a screen grab, sorry Zhann.)
So I just guessed about what colour "pale champagne" was.
So as there IS a mask render option in Bryce4 - where is it?
FranOnTheEdge (P.S. I'm the dope trying to do Zhann's wonderful "The Summoning" tutorial)

How would you go about making a wizard's staff - with a large-ish shining jewel at the terminal? For Bryce4 - for a poser figure to hold. (preferably a faceted jewel, not a round smooth pebbly one)
