yeah i have tried that method... and it still leaves me pretty confused lol. i thought i saw a diagram somewhere though where someone actually had arrows pointing to show which polygons matched up to what, and that would be perfect if i could get a hold of that somehow.
Thread: morph target madness | Forum: Poser Technical
i did the following test: i imported the external obj directly into poser as a morph target... that worked (though of course the morph does nothing as it is the default shape) then i changed the external obj into a 3dm for rhino, and in rhino made NO changes to the file at all, exported again as an obj (several times testing different options checked) and in poser it still tells me wrong number of vertices. i checked the options in obj23dm and the only option i had checked was include groups, i tried with this unchecked and got the same error... the only other options to check are textures, materials, and normals, all of which will add extra vertices so i leave them unchecked always. so i guess the error is occuring either in the translation to 3dm, or in rhino when it exports, even though i didnt change anything... ARGH

hmm ill check obj23dm to make sure i did not change any options, unfortunately if i convert the obj in my geometries folder for the prop i get the same error =(
Thread: Conformers with extra parts | Forum: Poser Technical
cool thanks very much ill check out the tutorials, i still dont know what "magic" makes a cr2 become a conforming cr2, so i been using poserwizard or existing conformers to be the basis for mine, but it would be good to learn. the actual text of a cr2 is still pretty much a mess to me, i can do some light editing, but im not real clear on what most of it is used for specifically.
Thread: CR2 to Conforming CR2, simple process or high stress surgery? | Forum: Poser Technical
wow so for you guys you can just use the victoria.cr2? if that's the case then why does anybody ever do text editing? when i do it (even after placing the conformer perfectly) when i click Conform, the outfit is WAY off. hmm, maybe there is a step i am missing somewhere. earlier though i asked how to make an item conform, and the quick answer was- use a cr2 that is already conforming (which i have and it works great =) and apply it to your obj. if there is NO difference between a normal cr2 and a conformer, why would using a conforming cr2 matter in the first place? or perhaps i guess it could be because victoria.cr2 is a big unwieldly file; and if all you are making is pants you dont need a cr2 that conforms to the whole body. i guess i should get back in the lab and do some more testing =P

hmm, well i KNOW there is a difference with conformers, otherwise you could just make an outfit for victoria, and then use victoria.cr2 as your conformer to point to your obj; just remove the morphs and change the materials... but in fact this does not work. my basic goal is to come up with a full body conformer cr2 that i can just keep using over and over, for both victoria and michael; and im talking conforming right down to the finger joints =)

cool where can i check out the tutorial? also, i did get the poser wizard program from the MP, it looks like, if that does what it says it does, it's a one stop insta conformer, and will even let me make conformers that have extra parts unrelated to the body of the character you are conforming to. i have not yet tested though so not sure yet.
Thread: Ever heard of a conforming figure for the Head? | Forum: Poser Technical
sweet! thanks a ton guys =) any recommendations for where i might find a full body conformer for michael?
Thread: Ever heard of a conforming figure for the Head? | Forum: Poser Technical
yes there is that, but it was built for posette and i doubt it would conform correctly to vicki's head. worth a try though =P
Thread: Conforming for Stephanie | Forum: Poser Technical
hmm Katman, sounds like i need your poserwizard =) @bloodsong, yes i do all that now when i export.. the thing is, if stephanie can already wear ALL of vicki's clothing... which is what DAZ says she can do, then there is no need to fit anything to steph in the first place right? just fit it to vicki... which i have already been doing for a while now lol guess i just did it backwards =P
Thread: Conforming for Stephanie | Forum: Poser Technical
aha. i exported Stephanie with the box method to build the clothing around her, BUT since DAZ says stephanie fits all of vicki's clothing, i bet i should have fit it to VICKI and not stephanie, which may explain why it's slightly off. does that make sense?

Thread: Seamless clothing joints? | Forum: Poser Technical
thats great, actually all you need is a conforming cr2 that already has everything welded; and you are in business. thanks! ok, my other question was how might i add extra parts to a conforming cr2? for example, there is a conforming loincloth in the Fantasy Dancer pack that has a Hip part, of course, but then also has like 5 poseable extra parts! These parts do show up and work perfectly in poser. any idea how this is done?
Thread: Seamless clothing joints? | Forum: Poser Technical
ok i found a cr2 with welds lemme see if i can figure out how to implement what you said ;P
