It's been forever since I've done this for a prop to sell. Isn't there a simple app around somewhere that will make external OBJs for you? I probably already have it but I can't remember which app and where this functionality is located.

I use the Poser File Editor for this, but it's a paid program (but it does so many things that it's well worth the price)
