Thread: Poser 4 to Bryce 3D, why won't it work? Please someone help me! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I should say that many folks are not as impressed with B5 as I am. It is not a huge leap for the product, but the Tree Lab really helps!

I had this problem also, and Bryce 4 and 5 work perfect with Poser 4, automatically applying the textures! When I had Poser 3, it frustrated me to death, but get B5 and it should all work out well. Also, make sure you have the most updated Poser, Poser 4.03, or something like that. I do think Bryce 5 is worth the upgrade, as I purchased it. However, my complaint is that renders take FOREVER! And I think I'm going to have to expand my RAM . . .

Ringbearer! You've enlightened me! I feel an extra brain growing from the back of my head! YEs! I've had this problem, and just deleted the outer sphere, and my eyes looked dull. But this is the perfect solution! Praise God! Thanks! BR Burton http://www.MessianicArt.com/

Is this Aki from FF? Yes, I would throw a small light, on the bottom, to illuminate the body from below. Not too much, but enough to let us know more about Aki in this picture. Thanks and God bless! BR Burton http://www.MessianicArt.com/

I wrote a reply thanking everyone for their input, but I guess I fumbled the post somehow. Anyway, thanks friends for all your great info! I received Bryce 5 (upgrade from 4) before I posted it. I really like it, however, I do have some gripes (render time, no object geometry editing), but I really do like Bryce. And I admit, although I have tried the Vue 4 demo version, I haven't given it a chance really. I was just interested in the Vue 4 versus Bryce 5 debate. MightPete: "I always render 1280 X 1024 in Vue. I never even tried in Bryce. I don't have weeks and weeks to wait for it to finnish." I agree that Bryce is SLOW! I tried rendering a 4000 x 3000 (I think), but it stopped responding after I stopped the render to open up PSP3 to see how the render progress was going. I have a Pentium 3 with 128MB of SDRAM, so I guess I need one of those industrial computers, or something. Laurie A (and MikeJ agrees with Laurie here): "One of the things that nagged me about Bryce was that kludgy interface where you are always having to constantly switch back and forth between views." If I gave Vue a fair chance, and got used to the interface, I probably would agree, although I haven't yet, so I cannot say for sure. I'm so used to the Bryce interface, and love the changes in B5, that I felt the Vue interface to be too "soft", but as I said, I really haven't given it a chance, and most likely, when funds are available, Vue is certainly something one would want to add to their graphic utility lineup. Joeblack: "Vue4 is 40% faster than Vue3" This is an excellent enhancement. How did they do it? THis is one of my gripes with Bryce, and if they could revamp the engine to make it faster, without compromising quality features and enhancements, I wish they could do it. Either that, or I get a new computer. Agiel, MsOutlaw, You have to decide on your own though." This is good advice, I hear echoed from many on Renderosity. artman3d: "is hard[] . . . to animate in bryce . . ." Excellent point. I have had Bryce 4 for a long time, and haven't figured it out. Of course, I almost never use the manuals, and like to try it out myself. This could be a hint on the intuitivity of the interface here. And I have seen an amazing animation of fish from Vue, on the net. Again, thanks to everyone for their input, and look forward to any replies, and further debate and information on this subject. First, thanks for responding! I have upgraded to Bryce 5 recently, and just posted this to get some ideas. I really like B5, and have tried the evaluation version of Vue 4, as I have seen the stunning images that software has produced on tha net. Vue 4's interface feels too "soft" for me, for some reason, but I admit I have only tried it once, I think, and haven't really given it a chance. I get "comfortable", and am situated to Bryce's interface. The only gripe I have with Bryce (or perhaps my Pentium 3 computer) is the render times! Phew. I just had a huge picture lock up on me, (of course I was opening other programs, to see the progress of the 4000 pixel wide .jpg, but hey). I would also like to see the ability to edit meshes in Bryce. Again, thanks Inspector and Griggs for replying, and for your friendly comments!

I mean application by applying the texture to the model. I just wanted to see if B5 has any problems with applying the poser texture maps to the exported models.

To Eric, Hey Bro, thanks for your nice comments! Yes, start up a page with Biblical art! That would be great. Check out this site: http://www.BibleVerseArt.com/ I want to create a Bible CD, that basically is the Bible Illustrated, bringing many Christian Artists, 3D and otherwise, onto the project. I have received a good response from the artists I have contacted, and I think it would be a great tool for those who need or want to read/learn the Good Book, but are not readers/or need/want to be visually stimulated. This would be great for children, teens and many adults, and I think the product would sell well. Actually, if done right, and marketed correctly, it would explode through the roof. Anyway, I saw your picture of the Pegasus horse, and wow. That is great, how did you create the lens flare? God bless, B.R. Burton MessianicArt.com

To Ken S: Wow, it is an honor to have you reply to my query, that is if you are THE Ken S(isemore/Fastraxx), etc. Your site is great, and is one of the resources sites I spend the most time at. Thanks for all your help to the 3D folks out there. B.R. BurtonThis site uses cookies to deliver the best experience. Our own cookies make user accounts and other features possible.
