Hi Womble, Yep, Vicky and the Walk Designer don't really get along. (Different geometry from Posette). I'm afraid that the only cure for that painful limp is to use the Keyframe Editor and fix it frame-by-frame. Time consuming, but it will work. Hope this helps! Dave :-)

Hi :-)
As a general rule I would stuff in as much RAM as you can, especially with it being quite cheap at the moment. This can often make a big difference to graphic intensive programs like good ol' Poser.
If you get the opportunity, consider a faster processor too. I built my own machine, 1GHZ AMB Athlon T-Bird, 765MB RAM, and Poser whizzes along very nicely.
Hope this helps!
Dave :-)

Sounds like it could be a playback problem. (i.e. the large video is stuttering on playback). Are you rendering uncompressed, or with a codec? Do large video files normally play back okay on your system? Try rendering a smaller ratio version and see what happens, that way you'll know if it's a keyframe problem or a playback one. Hope this helps! Dave :-)
Thread: Ring my bell - Why does Poser keep doing it | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I had this annoying problem too, and as far as I can tell it only happens when running Poser under Win2K. I also had problems rendering from Poser with some codecs, such as Indeo.
In the end I went back to using Win98SE and the problems disappeared. I could have lived with the ringing, (just turn off my speakers!), but I had MAJOR problems with my motherboard and Win2K, so Win98 it was.
As far as I remember it doesn't affect the final animation, just causes a little "ringing in the ears". ;-)

If you want to create PAL broadcast-quality movies, you'll need to make them exactly 720x576 @ 25fps. Also, for DVD material you will need to convert your movies to MPEG2 format first.Check out the URL below for a FREE MPEG1 and 2 encoder. :-)

Hi Tom! Think I can help you here buddy! As long as you keep ALL the separate AVI movies in the same format, (Codec, frames per second, size and soundtrack format), you can edit them together and create a NEW AVI with DDCLip from SoftLab NSK. The full retail program is excellent, but they also have a FREE early version of their program at the following URL: http://www.softlab-nsk.com/ddclipro/free.html The great thing is that it's really easy to use and you can mix soundtracks too. Enjoy! Dave.

No full stories as yet, but I do have a couple of humorous animations on my personal web site which I hope you'll enjoy. :-) (99.9% of them were made with Poser 4). Dave PS You need the DivX Codec to view them.Thread: Harmless Fun ( hopefully) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

If you want this effect the easy-peasy way, with TONS of other cool effects too, check out Illusion 2 from Impulse. This program seriously rocks! Trust me! (A very happy customer) Dave :-)Thread: Codecs and broadcast | Forum: Animation

You may want to check out TMPGEnc. It lets you create both MPEG1 and MPEG2 movie files, but I believe you have to register it to use MPEG2 after the evaluation period runs out. I use it for creating MPEG1 files from uncompressed AVI's and it works great! :-) DaveThread: t-rex question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

Looks good! Funnily enough, on the Amazon.co.uk site it appears to have a different cover! (Lots of Sci-Fi and rockets) Weird! Dave :)
