According to the Carrara Dev. team, that was their intended Bones support was a good Poser importer. They knew that it wouldn't be ready for Carrara's ship date, but intended on releasing it later. I'm not sure where these plans are now that the products have been sold to different companies. Getting a little back to original thread. IK and bones are different. They are often used together, but I've seen other applications that had IK, but not bones. You can even have bones without IK, in which case you have to do all the motion yourself, but the bone still deforms the mesh. I believe trueSpace also had IK before they had bones, it's not unusual. Thread: New Carrara extension from DCG, Anything Glows | Forum: Carrara
You can skip the glow, it's actually slightly faster since there are no shader calculations. Set Anthing Glow's Color parameter on Light Color and use a Gel to fine tune control how it emits light. headgamer, LHS stuff is pretty cool and this is how you get to it. There should be a new button on your toolbar that looks like clouds with the letters LHS. That's your volumetric clouds. The Noise deformer and morpher are on your Modifiers tab. Just select an object and click on the gear in the properties panel. The Noise tweener is with the rest of the tweeners. Drop an object on the screen move the time line and then move your object so you have a new keyframe. Click between the two keyframes and it will bring up the tweener info on the properties panel. Arcady, For windows I use this formula most of the time. Color:Value = 0 Highlight:Value = 90 Highlight:Value = 90 Reflection:Value = 10 Transparancy:Value = 90 This gives you reflections, highlights and allows you to see through it. The trick, as long as your close to 100% transparancy is to turn Cast Shadows off on whatever you are using for Glass. It's much faster than lighting through transparancy and in most cases people won't notice the difference. Thread: Making a Poser Morph Target - Symmetry possible with an already 2 sided object? | Forum: Carrara
arcady, Typically when I am trying to make a model symmetrical I: 1. delete one side 2. select the other side and duplicate with symmetry 3. line them up 4. weld But, Poser expects the facets to be in a particular order so this won't work when creating a morph target. Morph targets will probably be a manual process, though you can check your symmetry by selecting points and seeing if they are the same on both sides. Keep in mind also that most natural things are not perfectly symmetrical and a little variation helps the believability of your model.
